Translate the following Japanese sentences into English.
以下の日本語の文章を、英語にしなさい。
1. 私が、ベルトラン（Bertrand）に初めて出会ったのは、シャンゼリゼだった。
It was on Champs-Elysees where I first encountered Bertrand.
2. 彼に会ったのは、雪のふる12月のことだった。
It was a snowy December when I met him.
3. しかし、彼を愛したのは、私ではなく、クロディーヌ（Claudine）だった。
But, it was Claudine who loved him, not me.
4. ベルトランが、愛したのは他でもない（none other than)私であった。
It was none other than me whom Bertrand adored.
5. もつれていたのは、クローディーヌの感情であった。
It was Claudine whose feelings were entangled.
6. 私がパリを去ったのはこの対立が理由だった。
It was because of this confrontation that I left Paris.
