This is my report card from last year's resolutions.
これは、昨年の抱負に関する私の通信簿です。
Last year around the same time I wrote my new year's resolutions regarding this blog for the past year as you can glance the article here.
昨年の今頃、このブログに関する過去1年間のための新年の抱負を書きました。記事リンク上。
The resolutions were:
抱負は、以下でした。
1. To establish a non-profit group to promote awareness of the necessity of being able to use English.
英語が使えることの必要性に対し覚醒を促すため、非営利組織を設立する。
2. To establish a scholarship fund based on the above group and hold a competition to award a week of studying tour in the US.
上の組織をもとに奨学金を設立し、アメリカ1週間の学習ツアーを賞金として与えるコンクールを開催する。
3. To establish a Skype lessons schedule to regulate the hours of listening and speaking instructions to raise funds for the sholarship.
スカイプでのリスニング及びスピーキングのレッスン計画表を作成し、スケジュールに計画性を持たせることで、奨学金の資金とする。
4. To encourage my readers to be able to communicate at least the basic ideas in English.
読者には、少なくとも基本的なことは英語で意思疎通ができるように奨励する。
5. To add another lanugage or two for comparative lanugages in studying English.
英語を学習する上で、比較言語となる言語を1つ2つ加える。
6. Not to have myself go to Japan to slap someone upside the head due to his/her unsuccessful English exams.
英語の試験に失敗したやつの頭をぶっ叩きに日本まで行かなくていいようにする。
The results are as follows.
結果は以下のとおりです。

1. Establishing a non-profit was difficult. The US IRS (Internal Revenue Services) requires non-profits a lot of information to be filed to avoid tax evasions. By the sheer amount of work to be done besides the actual organizational activities, we simply decided not to form one at the beginning.
非営利組織を設立するのは、困難でした。米国歳入庁は、脱税を回避するため非営利組織には、大量の情報の提示を求めます。実際の組織活動の上に、なさなければならない仕事量の多さに、私たちは、非営利組織の設立はしないと最初に決めました。
2. However, it was fortunate that we were able to find investors in March to realize a schlarship competition. We accepted applications without the prospect of funding to be honest. We were optimistic at best, stupid in fact. In the end, it was all good.
しかし、幸運にも3月には投資家を見つけることができ、奨学金を実現することができたのです。正直を言えば、資金のめどがつかない内に、応募願書を受け取ってしまったのでした。よくて楽観的、実際は馬鹿でした。最終的には良い結果でしたけど。
As you know the scholarship winners are all non-Japanese; you can see them here. My dear readers might think Japanese applicants could not make it to the top. My dear readers might also say that there is no competition between Japanese students and those outside Japan because Japanese English education is disadvantaged. It is not true. We simply did not receive any applications from Japanese stduents. None. After all these efforts to help Japanese students and readers to be better at English, the scholarship went elsewhere.
お分かりの通り、奨学金受賞者はすべて、日本人ではありません。リンク上。私の親愛なる読者たちは、日本人の応募者は、上位に入らなかったと思われるかもしれません。私の親愛なる読者はまた、日本の英語教育の不備で、日本の学生は外国の学生には比較にならないと言われるかもしれません。これは、事実ではありません。私たちは、単に日本人から応募願書を受け取らなかったのです。ひとつも。日本の学習者や読者が英語力を伸ばせるように援助する努力をし続けてきましたが、奨学金はよそに行ってしまいましたよ。
With the funding from the investors I had asked a dear friend of mine to start planning to establish a company. She filed an aritcle of organization with the authority at the end of last year.
投資家から受け取った資金で、私は親しい友人に会社を設立する計画を始めてくれるように依頼していました。昨年末、彼女は定款を当該役所に提出しました。
