This is the continuation from the last article.
Another type of verbs is "non-continuous" or "state" verbs, which are usually things we cannot see someone doing. These verbs are rarely used in progressive/continuous tenses.
Abstract verbs, possession verbs, and mental/emotion verbs belong to this type.
Examples of abstract (抽象)verbs are:
to cost, to seem, to contain, to owe, to exist, to lack, to involve, to include, to exclude, to deserve, to consist... so forth.
Examples of possession (所有)verbs are:
to possess, to own, to belong... so forth.
Examples of mental/psychological(精神・心理)verbs are:
to believe, to forget, to imagine, to know, to realize, to recognize, to remember, to understand, to promise, to doubt, to suppose, to satisfy,to impress, to agree, to disagree, to deny, to matter, to fit, to depend, to concern, to want, to wish, to need, to care, to mean... so forth.
Examples of emotion/feeling (感情・情緒)verbs are:
to like, to love, to hate, to dislike, to fear, to envy, to mind, to prefer, to surprise, to please, to astonish... so forth.
