What did you think of the speaking exercises?
これまでのスピーキングの練習問題をどう思われましたでしょう？
I have created 18 speaking exercises with audio files and provided their answers with transcriptions in all 6 types of questions of the TOEFL speaking tests since mid-November last year.
昨年の11月中旬から、TOEFL のスピーキングテストの問題傾向６タイプ全てにわたり、オーディオ付き練習問題18問と解答、及びそれの和訳を書いてきました。
And those who, every day, listened to every question, checked his/her understanding with the translations, tried answering the questions by speaking, reviewed the sample answers, and practiced speaking them along with the answers, I am sure you realized rather phenomenal improvements in both listening and speaking skills.
毎日、問題一つ一つを聞き、和訳で理解度を確認し、口頭で質問に答えようと試み、回答例を読み、それを真似て練習した方々は、聴解力及びスピーキングの力が驚くほど強化されたはずです。
As I said it before, to gain listening and speaking skills, we need to practice listening to and speaking the languages that we study just as practicing the musical instruments or dancing. There is not any violinist who has never held a violin or any ballerina who has never learned positions.
以前にも言いましたが、リスニングとスピーキングの力を着けるためには、学習言語を聞き、話す練習をする必要があります。これは楽器やダンスを練習するのと同じです。バイオリンを持ったことのないバイオリン奏者もいなければ、ポジションを習ったことのないバレリーナもいません。
I am going to summarize the tendency of speaking test questions of TOEFL iBT today.
今日は、インターネットベースのTOEFL、スピーキング問題の傾向について要約したいと思います。
Please look at the following tables.
以下の表を御覧ください。
First, please look at the "Delivery" column. Questions are delivered by audio; therefore, if you do not understand the questions by listening, you are out. In such cases, please practice your listening with easier materials.
まず、設問形態というコラムを見て下さい。設問はすべて英語の音声でされます。ですから、質問を聞いて理解できなければ、アウトです。その場合は、リスニングをもう少し易しい教材で練習して下さい。
Second, take a look at the "Question" column. All questions require you to support your statement, summary, or opinion by examples and facts. This skill can be enhanced in your daily life by searching why you have that particular opinion or by thinking about the facts to support the materials you learned.
次に、設問のコラムを見て下さい。問題は全て、貴方の発言、要約、或いは意見を、例や、事実を挙げて答えることを要求しています。ですから、これは日常の生活の中で、意見を持った理由や、学習したことを裏付けする習慣を身につけて補いましょう。
Third, there are two categories in the questions; one is rephrasing/summarizing what you heard/read, and the other is stating your opinions with or without input. Rephrasing requires you to listen/read the given materials carefully, understand them, and state the contents in your words. You can prepare for these questions by listening materials and summarizing in speech. However, when you are asked to give opinions, your common sense and logical thoughts are tested. Try to think well to have well-rounded opinions in your daily life.
更に、問題には、二つの種類があります。一つは、聴いたり読んだりした題材について言い換えたり、要約するもので、もうひとつは、インプットがあるなしにかかわらず、意見を述べるものです。要約する問題は与えられた題材を注意深く読み聴き、理解し、自分の言葉で言うことが要求されています。これは、教材を聴き、口頭で要約する練習で準備が出来ます。しかし、意見を問われた場合は、常識や理論的思考が試されているのです。よく考えた上で、幅の広い意見を持つように日頃から努めましょう。
