The Japanese language is full of foreign-originated words usually written in Katakanas. English is no different.
日本語は、通常カタカナで書き表されていますが、外来語で溢れています。英語も同様です。
For example, there is a French noun "ratatouille." If you are participating in this round of quest at Pigg-life, you must have cooked many many pots of it by now.
例えば、フランス語の名詞、「ラタトゥーイ」があります。ピグライフで今回のクエストに参加していれば、もう何杯も作ったのではないでしょうか。
Ratatouille is a dish with many kinds of vegetables, but sometimes with meat. French cuisine is world-famous and many culinary terms come from French words.
ラタトゥーイは、時に肉が入る場合もありますが、野菜のたっぷり入った料理です。フランス料理は世界的に有名で、調理用語の多くはフランス語源です。
There is also the word "ratatouille" in English. But, the pronunciation is different in English.
英語にもラタトゥーイがあります。でも英語では異なった発音がなされます。

In French, usually "-ille" is pronounced like a prolonged "y" sound. In this Merriam-Webster pronunciation, the "y" sound is replaced by prolonged "e" sound. Both are acceptable in the US.
フランス語の語尾の "-ille" は、"y" の長くなったような音です。Youtubeの英語の発音では、この "y" が "e" を伸ばしたような音になっています。英語ではどちらでも良いです。
In Japanese, there is no other way to express this "y" sound in any of the available characters, so they usually use katakana "YU" for this purpose. Because in general, when you see a French-sounding "-YU" in Japanese katakanas, it is safe to pronounce "-y" like French or "-e" like English. But do not pronounce Japanese "YU" when speaking English.
日本語には、この "y" 音を表すのに、他に表記方法が無いため、カタカナの「ユ」で間に合わせています。一般的に、フランス語源の音声でカタカナで書き表された日本語に「ユ」があれば、フランス語のように、 "y" と発音しても、英語のように "e" と発音してもよろしいでしょう。英語を話すときは、日本語の「ユ」を発音してはいけません。
I can think of a word like "millefeuille" as an example. The last "-ille" in Japanese is "YU" but it is "milfui-y" or "milfuie."
「ミルフィーユ」という例を上げますが、最後の "-ille" は日本語では「ユ」ですが、「ミルフュイーy」か、「ミルフュイー」です。
