「ダイム」って何のことか、ご存知ですか？米国人が、自国の10セント硬貨（10セント玉といった方が日本語らしい？）をそう呼びます。でも、私は米国の通貨の話をするつもりはありません。

以下の文章を声を出して読んでみてください。一番うまく読んでみて。
John says that I am smart.ジョンは、僕が（私が）賢いといってくれる。
Remember how you pronounced the sentence or better yet, record it.
どういう風に発音したか、覚えておいてくださいよ。もっといいのは録音しておくことです。
Now, pronounce the following words for me.
では、次の単語を発音してください。
the dime.（意味としては）10セント玉。
Do not put a stop between "the" and "dime." It should sound like "thedaim."
「the」と「dime」の間（あいだ）に、間（ま）を置かないで、「thedaim」と発音してください。
Let's put together the above two practices together.
上二つの練習を一緒にまとめましょう。

（意味はありません。）
It is a strange sentence and it does not make sense. But pronunciation-wise, it makes sense.
変な文章で、意味をなしません。しかし、発音の観点からは、意味が有ります。
That is:
つまり、
John says that I am smart.and
John says the dime smart.are pronounced exactly the same.
「John says that I am smart.」と「John says the dime smart.」の発音は、全く同じだということです。
Please recall how you pronounced "John says that I am smart" at the beginning or replay the recording, and compare it with your pronunciation now. And congratulations! Good work.
