二十数年ぶりに新宿へ

Back to Shinjuku for the first time in over 20 years

コロナ禍が始まって以来、都心には行かなかったのですが、今日（６月１２日）、二十数年ぶりに新宿へ行きました。

I haven't been to the city center since the coronavirus pandemic began, but today (June 12th) I went to Shinjuku for the first time in over 20 years.

お馴染み、京王多摩センター駅の改札。

The familiar ticket gate at Keio Tama Center Station.

今日は、この駅始発の特急に乗って、終点の新宿まで行きます。

Today, I'll take the express train departing from this station to its final destination, Shinjuku.

特急が来ました。

The express train has arrived.

「りゅんりゅん（ルンルン♪）」

"Excited♪"

終点まで、特急列車に乗れるので、さくら姫は機嫌が良いですね。(^^)

Princess Sakura is in a good mood because she can ride the express train to the last stop.

京王線の新宿駅に到着。

Arrived at Shinjuku Station on the Keio Line.

ここで、弟と待ち合わせをしました。(^^)

This is where I had a meeting with my brother.

懐かしい標識。

A nostalgic sign.

会社に勤めていた時は、ここ新宿から丸ノ内線に乗って、さらに都心へ向かったものです。

When I was working for a company, I would take the Marunouchi Line from Shinjuku and then head towards the city center.

でも、新宿も、ずいぶんと変わりました。

But Shinjuku has also changed a lot.

こちらは、西口から東口へ行ける地下通路です。

This is the underground passage that takes you from the West Exit to the East Exit.

弟によると、およそ４年前にできたそうです。

According to my brother, it was built about four years ago.

東口に出ました。

We went out the east exit.

有名なスタジオアルタも、まもなく、閉鎖されます。

The famous Studio Alta will also soon be closing.

ライオンどうし。(笑)

They are lions to each other.
