このところのウクライナでの戦争のニュースを見て、私は心を痛めていました。

The news of the recent war in Ukraine hurt me.

かなり神経質になっていたのですが、

それを察した大学時代の友人が電話してくれました。

I was pretty nervous, a friend from college who knew about it called me.

「元気か？」の声に、どれだけ、励まされたことか。

How encouraging was the voice of "How are you ?"

本当に、人の善意は、ありがたいものだと、改めて実感しました。

I realized once again that the good intentions of people are truly grateful.

その上で、心から叫びたいのは、やはり、『戦争反対！』です。

On top of that, what I really want to scream is, "Against the war !"

私は決して「悪」には屈服いたしません！

I will never give in to "evil" !

そして、日本で桜の花が咲く頃には、

ウクライナの民衆が戦争を克服していることを願ってやみません。

By the time the cherry blossoms bloom in Japan,

I hope that the Ukrainian people will have overcome the war.

ウクライナが、再び、平和になりますように。

May Ukraine be peaceful again.

そして、再び、笑顔で幸福な生活を取り戻すことができますように。

And again, may the Ukrainians be able to regain a happy life with a smile.
