Parallels Desktop for Mac の RC版が公開

Parallels Software International は、Intel プロセッサ搭載 Mac 上で Windows XP などの OS を仮想マシンとして動作させるソフトウェア「Parallels Desktop for Mac」の RC(Release Candidate)版を公開した。Parallels Workstation 2.1 for Mac OS X と呼ばれていたもののリリース候補版で、名前が変更されている。

今回の主な修正点は以下の通り。

- New look and feel
- Improved performance and stability
- Better and broader USB support
- Improved Shared Folder tool
- Better networking in virtual machines
- Better sound support
- Improved fullscreen mode
- Resolved Suspend/Resume issues
- Uninstaller introduced
- National keyboards mapping issues have been fixed
- Red "Power Off" button now always acts like Power Off
- Blue "Pause" button now always acts like Suspend
- The "Pause" functionality was moved to the VM menu


“National keyboards mapping issues have been fixed”とあるので筆者の環境で試してみたが、期待していた￥マークやアンダースコアが入力できない問題点の改善はされていなかった。

RC版にアップグレードすると一部のUSB機器が正しく動作しなくなるようだ。筆者のところでもその現象を確認している。β６以前でUSB機器を使っているユーザはアップグレードをしばらく待った方がいいだろう。
