Site used this time

1. For the time being, I secured a round-trip flight between Japan and Europe, so I was thinking of using Europe's largest LCC "Ryanair" for long-distance travel within Europe.
I used it once five years ago and was surprised at how cheap it was. I thought the fare would be cheaper than the long-distance bus. Cheaper than the train fare.

2, However, when I searched the net, I was flooded with both "best" and "worst" opinions.
It's true that LCCs are cutting down on extra costs to keep prices low, so I thought the service would go down, but...

3. I saw it directly on the Ryanair site, but the price is about 25 to 35€ for the "Value" class when traveling within Europe. A little service issue is tolerable.
Well, when I tried to make a reservation, I became concerned about the luggage limit. In the above class, you can only bring a bag that can be put under the seat in front of the seat.
To be precise, it has a maximum size of 40 x 25 x 20 cm and a weight of up to 7 kg.
Basically, I don't want to carry around luggage, so it's a little less, but I'm staying for 30 nights, so the above doesn't fit.

4. There seems to be no choice but to raise the class one rank to "Regular" or pay a separate fee for additional luggage.
If you set it to "Regular", you can add one bag with Max 55 x 40 x 20 cm and weight 10 kg as carry-on baggage. In addition, seat selection is included, and I don't know what it is, but it seems that priority boarding is also possible.
However, the price will be almost double.
But still cheap enough.

5. If you look further on the internet, it seems that the above weight limit is very strict and an additional charge will be imposed if it exceeds 1 kg.
It also says that if you don't print it on paper, you will be charged an additional fee because you can't use etichet on your smartphone.
Hmmm!! ︎
It would be nice if I could print everything in Japan in advance, but since the trip is long, can I check in online a month in advance?
If you don't do that, you won't be able to print your boarding pass!?

6. As mentioned above, there were various problems, but there was no end to my worries, so I decided to make a reservation with "Regular".
As I already mentioned in No7's post, while I was investigating various things, about a month had passed, and the flight fee had increased significantly. Not all of them went up, but they basically went up quite a bit, especially the flights from Malta to Marseille tripled.
Also, a certain route had a price set a month in advance, but when I made the reservation, there were no flights on that day.
Eh, something like this!! ︎ I thought, but unforeseen circumstances are inevitable.

7. The Ryanair reservation site is very difficult for Japanese people to understand. If you make a reservation on your smartphone, the screen is small, so difficult English is lined up all over the screen.
I can't help it, so I proceeded with a rough understanding, but the screen to enter credit card information on the final fee payment screen does not appear.
I don't think that's possible.
I tried various things with my friend, but it didn't work, so I finally gave up on that day. I thought that the next opportunity would go well, but I tried for a few days and it didn't work.
I was at a loss and used Google Translate for parts, but it was useless.
I thought it would be easier to understand with a large screen on a computer, so when I tried it, there was a button to press again.
I ended up spending about a week on it.

8, finally made a reservation for 5 routes.
Since the charge was displayed in €, I had made preparations so that I could apply for "SonyBank Wallet Debit" and pay directly in €, but for some reason the payment was made in yen.
In addition, the exchange fee was about 10 yen higher than the yen/euro.
It's still a mystery, but was there a button to select again somewhere?!?

9. As mentioned above, there are many problems and unknown points, and there are aspects that I still do not understand correctly, but there are also good aspects.
Ryanair has so many routes that you might think they fly to most cities in Europe.
While searching, I also found flights from Sicily to Greece and from Greece to Malta.
So the number of countries and towns I go to has increased.
In addition, I was originally thinking of going from Sicily to Barcelona, but there was a flight from Malta to Marseille, so I decided to go around the Mediterranean side of France.
You can go around the towns of the Cote d'Azur that you have heard of.

10. At first, I was thinking of going by bus or train to San Sebastian, where Ryanair doesn't fly much, but since I use buses and trains for other trips, I thought it would be difficult to travel for a long time, so I decided to use another LCC. I decided to use it.
For some reason, Iberia Air from San Sebastian to Madrid was super cheap, but Vueling Air from Barcelona to San Sebastian had a high baggage fee like Ryanair.
By the way, the reservations for the above two routes were made in Japanese from Trip.com, not directly on the website, so I was able to complete them without any problems.

-------------------------------------------------
★ "Ryanair" has both good and bad points, but I felt that the judgment of use is divided depending on each person. I am a person who enjoys various troubles, so I would like to continue using it, but it is not suitable for people who are busy with work or who dislike troublesome things.

★ The earlier you make this flight reservation, the better. It was still half a year away, so I was taking it easy, so the price was quite high.
