Five years ago, I went on a solo trip to Italy without any prior knowledge, but the Colosseum I saw at that time was so amazing that I became a fan of the ancient Roman era.
The photo I posted was taken at that time.
I booked an inn near Roma Termini station and the front desk staff told me that it was possible to walk there. When I walked according to the map, I found a fairly large park, and when I passed through it, the Colosseum suddenly appeared on my eyes between the trees.
I still can't forget how impressed I was by the size and the splendor of the design. I thought everyone at that time thought that it was made by God.
After returning to Japan, I read a lot of books, including Nanami Shiono's books, and studied a little Italian on my own.
Corona is finally starting to converge, so I'm planning to do it this year.
Well, the plan is to get to Rome and take a flight back from Rome.
Since I will stop by Rome on my way home, I am considering taking a night bus from Tiburtina in the suburbs to Bari on the east coast as soon as I arrive. I wonder if I can sleep on a night bus in Italy~!? Anyone with experience please comment.
From there, I would like to visit the Trulli (Alberobello) and the end of the Appian Way (Brindisi). And I would like to see the Adriatic Sea and feel the longing for Caesar and the Romans at that time for Greece.
After that, I'm thinking of going back to the west coast by bus and seeing the famous Amalfi coastline, and taking a night train from Salerno to Catania in Sicily.
I've heard that there is a fusion of various cultures in Sicily, so I'm looking forward to it, but I'm still considering the specific location.
It's going to be long, so I'm considering the second phase of air travel next.
