where it all began
June already. What is good people?
I can't call it, like I posted at my last English blog, same old same but that same is good for me as of now.
btw June maybe the worst time to chill in Tokyo cuz of the 2-3 weeks long rainy season if you hate rain.
But after that, super humid summer says hello, and it becomes a season where I can't stand being in the studio.
Just too much fun things going on and that is what you gotta do in summer right? HAVE FUN!!
I hope y'all have a good summer of 2012.
Anyways I had multiple requests on how the Persona composer Mr. Meguro Shoji and I met, so let me get into it just briefly.
Story begins from a phone call I got from Japan while I was visiting back my hometown NJ.
I think it was 2004 or 05. My friend Yuya told me this dude was looking for a rapper for this particular game music and asked if I was interested. I told him to send me the track first then we can talk.
When I heard it, I was blown out by the quality! You know I wasn't expecting 16 bit Pacman music, but DAMN!
I came back the following week as scheduled, and went into the studio in Roppoingi. Greeted Mr. Meguro and quick hello with Yumi Kawamura.
The rap was written by someone else, now that was a problem. I am a self-made MC.
So I asked if I can rewrite and create a flow cuz there was none.
Kindly he let me loop the track for 30 min or so, wrote it at the spot then recorded my verses.
That was the beginning to it all to the Persona series.
aight, next blog I will write about how the Persona Music Live began. (If I got time)
Gotta get back into the project. Hope y'all have a good day!

２７日、ペルソナのジュネス大感謝祭＠東京ドームシティホールでした。
ペルソナバンドはシークレットなんで隠しといてくださいねとA立さんに言われて早２ヶ月くらいかな？
ちょっと一部にはバレてたみたいだけどw
でもサプライズになったようでよかったです。
来られたみなさん楽しんでもらいましたか？
ペルソナのお客さんはいつもあたたかいから心配してなかったけど、
とにかくみーーんな笑顔でした。ライブ中伝染したよ。ありがとう。
感想はね、「６股はしちゃだめだもん。人間だけど」w
久しぶりにBeauty of DestinyとReach Out to the Truthやったけどアガリマシタ。
そしてオープニングはkey plus words。
実は今回のライブもあって、
この前たまたまみんなで飲んでたときにオレからカラオケに誘ったんですよ。
結果川村ゆみさんと平田ちゃんのサビが素晴らしいハモリ。
３、４回歌ってたからね。ふふ。思惑通りだぜw
唯一寂しかったのは喜多くんがいなかったことかな。まあ次回には！
さてさて。
そんなこんなで事後報告なのですが、CM音楽を提供させてもらいました。
今回はアピタ・ユニーさんという会社のCMをたくさん担当させてもらいました。
今年からそういった話をもらうことになって、とても感謝してます。
何しろはじめての試みなのでチャレンジャーです。いわゆるジングルって実は憧れもあったので、
迷いもあったし、悩みまくったけど映像にはめてもらってみたらまずまず自分は良かったと思ってます。まあ一生満足はないのでどん欲にさらに上をみてます、早くもっとうまくなりたいんだよ、おれw
そしてそのアピタさんのCMですが、まずBody Supportというもの。
これはIchi-Goさんという若手シンガーさんの参加で作詞作曲させてもらいました。
さらにCool Onというもの。ひんやりとしたシャツのCM。
このギターはペルソナでも弾いてくれている浜口さんに頼みました（背筋の人w）。
これは今まで作ったことなかったから未だに新鮮です。
全てこちらのyoutubeのアドレスでアップしてあるので、よかったら聞いてみてください。
さらに布団のCM。これは実は昔からの親友／先輩VlidgeのKiichiさんに歌ってもらいました。
レコーディングの時あまりにもハモリが奇麗で感動してました。
よく聞かないと歌ということに気がつかない人もいるかもしれません。

わかったかな？美声。
そして初のオレソロ名義でのCM。これはCool BizというCMですが、まだyoutubeなどにはアップされてないそうです。でも中京あたりではガンガン流れているとか。近隣の方、聞いたら感想聞かせてね。
それではまたさらに発表をまだまだできないものの曲制作に戻りますw

BEATS AND BEATS
Long time no see, Lotus here, how is my people abroad doing?
I have been working on this 'confidential' project for quite sometime now.
I can only say that this music I currently working on will be out this year, it will be for this particular game I've never participated.
Sorry it will not be Persona 5 if you were expecting that. (I am not hired by INDEX so I have no idea when and if 5 is gonna come out)
And what is new about this is that I am producing the whole 2 significant songs.
This has been a huge challenge for me because every time I worked on tracks for other artists or Anime or games, I only wrote and recorded my rap.
BTW personally I as an hip hop artist feels as though every vocalists need to be able to create a track to a certain level.
I have no offense to MCs who only rhyme, but when I work with non-trackmaker/rapper artists, sometimes it gets ugly because we speak different lingo.
I just feel as though as a 21st century active musician, we all need to know a bit about technical matters too, what comes down to is that recording requires electronics.
Anyways I have to say I am decently confident with my complicated 2 tracks and cannot wait for it to be out! This game is supposedly world famous but ….I'm just sorry I can't talk much about it :)
Other than that, I been doing same ol' same ol' shizzle.
I wanted to put a summer EP out in August with a release party by the shore in SHONAN, but my schedule has been deadly and doesn't seem to calm itself.
I hate to say it but summer EP idea is for next year.
HOWEVER I will be coming out with an EP or an album most likely in October with a bit of surprise.
AND my promotion VIDEO of a song CARPE DIEM will be uploaded in July.
I just saw the sample of it the other day and man it's HOT!!!
The video is co-produced by my man Mr. Hariu and myself, directed by him and WOW is what I can say.
check out his portfolio here, I have never seen any footage like his and I am blessed to work with him.
