Massive earthquakes and Tunamis hit and devastated Tohoku Japan on March 11.2011.
Lots of people from all over the world pray for Japan.
Then The world unites in the name of "Help Japan"
Hope everyone remember we can be ONE for PEACE.
And I'd like you to know what is really happening, choose the right information
and act wisely.
Most of things made in Japan are safe, and most of places in Japan are safe too.
We all believe Japan will reconstruct and recover.
Although, not just same as before, it will be better world waiting for us.
Hanami is "
Cherry Blossom Viewing Party
"
... It's not just for drinking under the cherry blossom and act crazy
.
admire and appreciate the beautiful cherry blossom
.
Japanese loves cherry blossom, not just beautiful when it's blooming, also we love it it start dropping their petals
.
I just found out there are more than 240 kinds of cherry blossoms exist
.
I only know a few...
My friends and I went Hanami party ( more like picnic)
I made lunch box and brought it to the party.
We found space under the cherry trees and had lunch watching beautiful scenery
.

After we had lunch we drove around the town looking for great places to look cherry blossoms
.

There are beautiful cherry blossoms all around the town

It was very warm and quiet, sunny sometime cloud, soft breeze...birds are singing...
It was a perfect day for Hanami

Some mountains have pattern like calico cat with white or pale pink cherry blossom, fresh green and evergreen greens
.
Spring is one of the best season to come to visit Japan

March 3rd is girl's day called Hina-matsuri in Japan.

It's a day for praying for young girls' growth and happiness.
Display a set of dolls like

When I was kids, my mom and my grandma used to display hina-dolls on a seven-tiered stand like picture. I remember I helped them put dolls on the stand. But no longer we display it...
I guess we renovated our house, we lost it...
And not many people have or display those big stand any more because not much space in houses and also not much time to set up and put them back.
Those dolls are represented the emperor
, empress
, their servants
, miniature furniture
.
Some set has miniature calligraphy set, it means the family hopes the girl would have well education.
Most of people cerebrate this festival on March 3, but the area (and some of the area in countryside of Japan) have this event on April. Because we used to use The Old Style calender, same as Chinese calender.
And in the area that I live close display different type of hina dolls called tsurushi-bina.

Tsurushi means hang, so hanging hina dolls.
There are about 50 type of small dolls, 5 red ropes are one set and one of the rope has 11 dolls.
I saw this type of display for the first time this year. It's gorgeous
It's girl's day anyway, so my sister and I went to eat sweets
for celebrate the festival

We just wanna some reasons to have sweets all the time
