visible results

I think what makes you keep doing your learning something are visible results. Without them, it is difficult to keep on doing and requires patience. Learning English is no exception. I felt so strongly today. For the past 2 days I skimmed one section of my vocabulary books what we call ”PASS 単”. Only one section, adjective words. Then I tried vocabulary part of one trial exam for Eiken 1st grade. I had been very worried about my declining vocabulary since I have not memorizing difficult words after I passed the paper test. However unexpectedly, my vocabulary score was not so bad. I got 15 right answers out of 20. That means 75% of my answer was right. I could barely reach the level of passing paper exam concerning vovabulary section. This is the visaible result I got. Without it, I cannot continue my studying. So If you try to get a chance to know your progrerss clearly and visibly, it will encourage you to keep learning something and this is the one main factor for you to be a success.

勉強していて思うのはやっていても目に見える成果がないとなかなか勉強が続かないということです。私はおとといとその前の日で久々にPASS単の形容詞のパートをざ～と読み返していました。動詞や名詞のところは全く見ていません。にも関わらず、今日１級用の模擬テストのような問題の語彙部門をやったのですが、２０問中１５問正解していました。７５％の正解率です。ブランクがあるわりにはまあまあいいできです。ここでは本番では７割取れるようにと言われてるパートなので、５～６割だと他でかなり点数を稼がないといけないので苦しいのです。でもおそらく何も下準備をせずにいきなり同じように問題に挑戦していたらもう少し点数は低かったと思います。ということは昨日ダラダラと単語帳を見てたのは無駄ではなかったということです。それが無駄でなかったということがわかれば毎日の勉強もはかどるというか維持できると思います。本番の試験までに目に見える成果を得ることは難しい。でも必死に勉強して過去問を解くなりして手応えがあればそれは、visible resultsであり、合格へと気持を引っ張ってくれる原動力になると思います。１０のうち、手応えも感じずに単調な勉強をしてる日は８～９で、うわ～成果が出てると感じれる日は１回あるかないかでしょう～。
でもこの８～９日の中でへこんではいけません。この積み重ねがいつか成果となって現れるのだと信じて継続することが合格への近道なのです。（と断定的に書きましたが私は本当にそう思います♪）
