接続詞thatの後に文を続けると、「～ということ」という名詞のはたらきをさせることができます。

itを主語にしてIt is trueとした後に〈that＋文〉を続けると、「～ということは本当だ」という意味を表すことができます。


文の主語はitですが、その内容を〈that＋文〉で表しています。


thatの後に「その病気が蔓延している」を表すthe disease is spreadingを続けて、It's truethat the disease is spreading.とします。
