「～するのは不可欠だ」は、It is essentialの後に〈that＋文〉を続けて表します。


thatの後の文でshouldを使うと、「そうすべきだ」というニュアンスになります。

「出席する」をpresent（出席している）という形容詞を使って表すと、It is essential thatthe sales manager should be present.となります。

shouldを使わずに、It is essential that the sales manager be present.とすることもできます。


動詞の原形を使うことで、〈should＋動詞の原形〉と同じ意味を表すことができます。
