今年最後のProm鑑賞は、初めてのBox席での鑑賞でした。


この回のPromは、ドイツ語が原作のオペラ「魔弾の射手」をフランス語で上演したもので、いずれの言語でもComcom2には理解不可能なので鑑賞に特段支障はありませんでしたが、PromsのHPのコメント欄では非難している人もいます。
本来の衣装や舞台装置は省略され、舞台中央にオーケストラ、オペラ歌手は舞台手前、コーラス隊は舞台後方という配置でした。小道具は発砲シーンで用いる鉄砲ぐらいでしたが、歌手が舞台から離れ、会場のどこかへ移動して歌ったりと、楽しめました。

Proms favourite Sir John Eliot Gardiner conducts Berlioz’s rarely performed French version of Weber’s Romantic opera.
Sir John Eliot Gardiner and his team have recently been staging Berlioz's rarely performed take on Weber's Der Freischütz at the Opéra Comique in Paris.

Sir John Eliot Gardiner and his team have recently been staging Berlioz's rarely performed take on Weber's Der Freischütz at the Opéra Comique in Paris.
As originally composed, the work has spoken dialogue in German but, for the Paris production of 1841, Berlioz replaced the dialogue with recitative as well as adding the ballet expected by French audiences at the time.
This is the most familiar part of his revision today, an orchestration of Weber's Invitation to the Dance. Tonight's rendition of the complete opera in Berlioz's reconfiguration is its first outing at the Proms
