UFC101 Philadelphia! (Day 3)
Day 3 (Saturday)
I actually woke up early! I met Leslie for breakfast downstairs at the restaurant where a lot of the fighters were still replenishing their bodies from cutting weight all week. They took full advantage of that breakfast buffet! I wanted to check out the town a little more before I left so I ventured out on my own for a few hours. I managed to find China Town, a mall, and Reading Terminal. Reading terminal is a well known indoor farmers market. It’s huge! It has everything from shrimp to honey to chocolate so I met my friend at a little spot called the Turkey House and grabbed a quick bite to eat before I needed to leave for the fights.
Getting ready for the fights was very different with Natasha there, but in a good way. She is such a goofball, which is so refreshing, and her silliness is contagious. We had a blast at the fights! I was disappointed with the Forrest vs. Silva fight. I’m a big fan of Forrest, but Silva is an amazing fighter. BJ Penn’s win brought my spirits back up though!
That night we went to a place called G Lounge where a lot of the fighters were. I got to meet a couple of Red Sox (my favorite team) pitchers as well as Gerard Butler who was also at the fight promoting his new movie, “Gamer.” I had such a good time!
