日本語練習13： I-adjectives, past tense and shapes

Acky and I went to see the moon again.I really love the place, The moon is always beautiful and the rabbits are always nice and cute in there.




He gave me new words:

まるい　marui　　　round
つき　tsuki　　　　moon


and showed me how to combine them with other words that I have learned so far:

おおきい　まるい　きいろい　つき　は　きれい　です


So, why don't I learn about other shapes:

Nouns
まる　matu　　　　circle, ring
さんかく sankaku　triangle
しかく shikaku　　square,　rectangle

I-Adjectives
まるい maru-i　　　　　round
しかくい shikaku-i　　　square　rectangular

Na-Adjective
さんかくな sankaku-na　triangular
さんかくい

and I need the past tense to talk about it later:

Two simple rules to make the past tense of I-adjectives
1) remove "I" い　at the end. If there are two "I"s then remove only one.
2) add "katta" かった

たのしい---たのし---たのしかった---tanoshi-katta---was/were fun
うれしい---うれし---うれしかった---ureshi-katta---was/were glad
かわいい---かわい---かわいかった---kawai-katta---was/were cute
おいしい---おいし---おいしかった---oishi-katta---was/were tasty

おおきい---おおき---おおきかった---ooki-katta---was/were big
ちいさい---ちいさ---ちいさかった---chiisa-katta---was/were little

あかい---あか---あかかった---aka-katta---was/were red
あおい---あお---あおかった---ao-katta---was/were blue
しろい---しろ---しろかった---shiro-katta---was/were white
くろい---くろ---くろかった---kuro-katta---was/were black
きいろい---きいろ---きいろかった---kiiro-katta---was/were yeallow

まるい---まる---まるかった---maru-katta---was/were round
しかくい---しかく---しかくかった---shikaku-katta---was/were square/rectangular

Add "desu" to make it politer.
かわいかったです
まるかったです

Add "ne" at the end to make is "wasn't it?" to both standard and polite forms.

ちいさかったね
ちいさかったですね
きいろかったね
きいろかったですね



Now I can say something like:

まるい　 きいろい　つき　は　おおきかったです。　
しろい　ちいさい　うさぎ　は　かわいかったね。
あき、とても　たのしかった。
