20 Hours Battery Life

Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist of the Asus Laptop Battery

There’s no doubt in my mind that ASUS was the first company to come up with the Transformer concept, a tablet with a docking keyboard that provides laptop functionality on demand. Acer tried to imitate ASUS with the Iconia Tab W500, but it was not to be. Then, at the beginning of 2012, Lenovo introduced to us the Ideapad S2 10, a tablet that looks a lot like the latest Transformer tablets. Finally the tablet made it to market, with a new codename: IdeaTab S2110.

As you can expect, Lenovo’s solution doesn’t deviate much from what ASUS offers today with the Transformer Infinity: an optional docking that adds a 3-in-1 SD card reader, a second battery such as Asus L5 Battery , Asus L5000 Battery , Asus L8 Battery , Asus L8000 Battery , Asus M5 Battery , Asus M5000 Battery , Asus M6 Battery , Asus M6000 Battery , Asus M68 Battery , Asus M6800 Battery , Asus S5 Battery , Asus S6 Battery and two USB ports (one more than the Infinity).

The design is different from what you’ve seen on the Prime and Infinity tablets. To me the curved textured back looks a lot like the one on the Transformer Pad 300, but it’s different enough not to raise any questions.

It’s clear that Lenovo isn’t aiming for a top-of-the-line product, but a mainstream one, with mobility in mind. Why I say that? Because there’s only a dual core CPU onboard (today’s top tablets have quad core Tegra 3 CPUs) and a low resolution 1280 x 800 screen. Productivity was Lenovo’s aim, as you can get a 3G version of the tablet and long lasting battery life with the docking: the estimate is 18-20 hours, which is impressive if it gets confirmed by testing.

Another interesting features, which I don’t recall seeing anywhere else is the presence of an FM radio, not quite the hi-tech function you’re expecting in a 2012 gadget. Dual speakers with SRS TruMedia certification help with audio playback. Two cameras complete the picture: 1.3 MP HD front facing and 5MP autofocus with LED model on the back.

Preloaded appsOne thing manufacturers do is load onto their products additional apps, to distinguish themselves from the default Android distribution (4.0 ICS in this case). So in Lenovo’s S2110 case we’re talking about AccuWeather, AnyRadio, Docs to Go, eBay, ES File Explorer ,Evernote, Extent Game Console, GO IME ,Kindle, Leadertech-Registration, Mobihand App Shop, NavvDrod, Norton Mobile Security, Omniphone-Rara, ooVoo HD, Papaya Mobile, Printershare, Shazam, Silver Creek Games, Skype, Sugarsync, Vendetta Online, Viewster, Zinio.

And you’re not getting access to just Google Play Store, but also the Lenovo App Shop, where you’ll find a bunch of tested and proven business oriented apps.

ConclusionTo me the Lenovo IdeaPad S2110 goes head to head with the Transformer Pad 300, especially if we’re looking at the price. You could choose the Lenovo if you’re looking for 3G connectivity, but you’ll give up two cores. Since I couldn’t find just yet the 3G S2110 it’s safe to say that ASUS is the right choice here (or the Infinity TF700T, if you have the cash).

I think the IdeaTab S2110 is a nice try from Lenovo, but the company need to do better. I may be proven wrong when I do get the chance to test the tablet, but for now there’s little reason to choose it over the aforementioned ASUS model.
