ROMEO1 X-Metal ↓
The lenses feature NXT Red Mirror, and the rubber parts are black.
This is a super-refreshed frame that we recently sold at the shop.
We also received reviews.
If you don't mind, please take a look. (Reviews are located towards the bottom of the product page.)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing?
Before we know it, we're already in the second half of February. Recently, it hasn't been too cold, and I'm eagerly waiting for spring, hoping it will get warmer soon.
Lately, it's still all about the Romeo 1.
I change the lenses based on my mood for the day, but today I went with the gold mirror.
Hmm, the gold mirror looks pretty good, I'm feeling excited.
By changing the lenses, I enjoy altering my mood. Changing the lenses can shift your mood.
Furthermore, switching to NXT lenses not only changes the way you see things but also lifts your spirits even more.
As always, LINEGEAR is fully committed to promoting NXT lenses,
but recently, I found something really nice—this.
Romeo 2 Carbon
The lenses are NXT Sky Clear.
We also received a review for this, a bit shy about it.
If you don't mind, please read the review located at the bottom of the product page.
Carbon with red rubber parts.
Looks cool!
The white nose pad is also a nice touch.
Thank you very much for choosing NXT lenses, many of our customers are selecting them.
Now, LINEGEAR is still facing difficulties in shipping satisfactorily overseas. Therefore, at the moment, we are refraining from international approaches and focusing on refreshing our frames for sale.
I'd like to introduce a bit.
Currently peeling off the carbon.
Once the carbon is peeled off, it will be in a silver state, somewhere between plasma and polished.
After this, I will polish it to achieve a polished finish.
And the result is...
It's a sparkling , shining , polished Juliet with a straight stem!
With all that said, at the moment, I've successfully refreshed about 8-9 frames, making them look beautiful.
Tomorrow, they will be available for sale at the shop.
- Juliet Plasma
- Juliet Plasma
- Juliet X-Metal
- Juliet Polished
- Juliet Polished (Straight Stem)
- Romeo 1 X-Metal
- X-Squared Polished
- X-Squared Plasma
Today, I would like to write about fake X-Metal products.
Options A and B,
One of them is a fake product.
Did you understand?
The fake product is "A".
"B" is the X-Squared Polished Carbon.
At first glance, it's probably not easy to tell.
This frame was generously given by a LINEGEAR customer. Thank you very much.
I'd like to share a few images.
It's really hard to tell, right?
Especially in the images, I don't think it's easy to discern.
By the way, it also has a proper serial number.
The serial number is OO6011-06, which matches the Polished Carbon/Black Iridium Polarized.
In reality, when you hold it, you can feel that it's quite heavy because the material is not titanium. Also, the lenses are not 8-base but 6-base.
Of course, there is no compatibility with screws and rubber parts.
I'd like to write down some points to distinguish:
Firstly, the most significant difference is that the screw on the backside of the nose bridge is a flathead screw.
And if I were to mention another point, the arms are thick.
Wouldn't it be possible to judge this by carefully examining the images?
Also, to avoid getting caught with fake products on auctions and such:
- Be cautious of items with unusually low fixed prices (e.g., priced at 4,800 yen when the regular price is higher).
- Confirm the serial number (Check if the frame color matches the serial number).
- Check the seller's ratings.
These are some general guidelines.
However, be aware that some individuals selling on platforms like Mercari or auctions might not even be aware that the items they are selling are fake. So, please be cautious.
*Please refer to LINEGEAR's "Serial Number Verification Table" on their website for checking serial numbers.
The frames of fake items (actual products) that I have encountered so far are as follows:
- Juliet
- Romeo 1
- Romeo 2
- X-METAL XX
- Penny
- X-SQUARED
In other words, there are fake items for almost all the X-Metal series.
As an example, I picked up some images of counterfeit items from the Oakley Forum. The following are all images of fake items.
Fake Mars Crater products
By the way, on the Oakley Forum,
there is a thread where users share information about counterfeit items, and if you have questions about whether something is fake, knowledgeable individuals will provide detailed answers.
This is quite handy, isn't it?
If you're interested, please take a look.
Hmm , I might have written a bit too casually, not sure if it was helpful.
To summarize again:
- Be suspicious of items with unusually low fixed prices (e.g., priced at 4,800 yen when the regular price is higher).
- Confirm the serial number (Check if the frame color matches the serial number).
- Check the seller's ratings.
- Examine images carefully for judgment.
- Fake items may not come with a box or X-Metal coin.
- If in doubt, you can contact LINEGEAR. They can almost always determine authenticity just by looking at the images, so feel free to inquire.
That's about it, but if there's any additional information in the future, I'd like to add it.
Now that I've written about the Oakley Forum,
As an aside, I'd like to introduce one thing: "「What Oakleys are you wearing today?」"
Here, there is an interesting corner where members of the Oakley Forum share selfies showcasing the Oakleys they are wearing each day.
This place is really fascinating. There are so many different customizations, and it becomes a page filled with ideas from Oakley enthusiasts worldwide.
Even if you can't read English, I believe you can enjoy the images if you love Oakley. Plus, it might be helpful for your own customization ideas.
Please take a look sometime. (You can view it freely without membership.)
Click the numbers to navigate through the pages, so feel free to explore.
Many people continue to post images of the X-Metal series, such as Romeo, Juliet, and Mars. It seems like the popularity is still going strong.
Most of the individuals appearing here are LINEGEAR customers. (Max also occasionally makes an appearance.)
By the way, LINEGEAR is a lifetime sponsor of the Oakley Forum.
It would be great if there were a site like this in Japan.
Well, that's it for now.
I hope to write again.
Feel free to check out the homepage as well!
Revive X-METAL!
