TOEIC Reading Test: Simple Present vs Present Continuous

日本に来日して6年になるんですけど、初めてTOEICというテストを聞きました。周りの人達が就職の為とかスキルアップの為TOIEC受験の為勉学に励んでいました。私がネイティブと言うことでだいたいTOEICが話題でした。これをきっかけに一体どういう試験か、自らTOEICを受けました。軽い気持ちで受けたら、時間が限られてるなかに意外と難しかった。結果は955点でした。

TOEIC Reading テストには動詞の違えとか時制の違えを見分けれる知識は必要です。同じ動詞だけど時制は違う、こう言うった問題は何個もあります。

今日は現在形と現在進行形の違いと練習を紹介したいと思います。

Simple Present (現在形)

Base Form ( He/She/It + s)

* Happens regularly or always true

( 通常に行う or 恒常的)

Ex:

The new interns work very hard.

She works very hard.

Let's try using these verbs

shop read stand write

1. She ______her book everyday.

2. We ______ on the weekends.

3. Journalists _______ news articles.

4. Teachers ______ at the front of the classroom.

Present Continuous (現在進行形)

am/is/are + -ing verb

* Happening right now and not finished yet

( 現在行っていて、まだ終わってない)

Ex:

I am waiting for my friend.

My brother is waiting for his birthday to come.
