Based in Umbria region, The Scarzuola is a private place, a magical place out of time for getting lost yourself.
Although La Scarzuola began as a Franciscan monastery, today’s architectural wonderland has little to do with traditional religion, reflecting instead the esoteric beliefs of the visionary Milanese architect Tommaso Buzzi.
For the visitors, the Scarzuola looks like a special itinerary, with many surreal and visionary elements. It is composed by 7 theaters, 7 settings and 7 monuments: Colosseum, Partenone, Pantheon, Arch of Triumph, Pyramide, Tower Bell and Tempio of Vesta.
Each work is carefully constructed to represent the inner thoughts of the artist, so is deeply personal and those familiar with the artist will find him in every brick laid in the compound.
* To reach the Scarzuola is not so easy, you need have a car , to know the area and to traverse a dirt road.
Since It is a private place, you have to reserve your entrance (Contact the owner Marco Salari in advance) and ticket for the guided visit costs 10 Euro (free entrace for Children under 12 years old). The parking in front of the entrance is free as well.
