A fashion photograph taken in a small railway station in Touraine.
Vintage train buffs had restored a locomotive and some coaches
for a ten-kilometre journey. A young woman covered with axel
grease sang as she drove it.

I do not know if it is true, but it was at once silent and
loud with memories of him. I even thought I could hear
children laughing.

We had just come back from Death Valley , and I was writing the texts
for my book, with the help of my daily ,in front of this window .
All of a sudden : snow.

when the model got up to stretch. I just
had time to take this picture. It looked
like being a glorious summer!

stretched out in the sun is contradicted by
the slight unease of the up-turned left toe.

The steering wheel was still burning from the day's sun, the sky was
gliding past us , indifferent , and the silence was almost unbearable.

In the canyons of Zabriskie Point,a patient shrub seemed to be
watching the mountain from which the water of life would trickle
at the first of rain. But the cloud were passing high and dry.

I often come here for the breakfast at about eight in the morning , when the
day is still blank. On Saturdays, I buy books at " La Hune " and go shopping
in the rue de Seine. I like being a creature of habit !

I took many picture of Ambroisine , a tiny , frail
Pre-Raphaelite figure with a long, flamboyant mane.
The curves of her loins was like a child's.

old house we had just bought : it was built in 1878
by Ernest Daudet , Alphonse's brother.

She did not know that the sun was catching the down her back, and
that her knickers had left the cleavage of her buttocks uncovered.

I liked her moon-face and her child-like slenderness. I think she went off
to American to work in films.
All roads lead to Inverness , Scotland ,1972
Lazy meandering in Scotland before reaching Skye ,where I was to work on
an advertising campaign. I know that one day I shall do a whole book on
Scotland and its lunar landscapes.
