Among of International Festival 2018 programs, I found an attractive one. It was "English Guides in Hiroshima", offered by Hiroshima Interprefer for Peace(HIP).

Although it needed a reservation, I got it a shot. Fortunately, I could get my seat!

Almost 50 participants and 30 operation staff including 4 guests from overseas were there.

We devided into 8 groups to try a role play dialogue between guide and tourist. Our group got a script introducing "Okonomiyaki"and we had a new skill under our belt to explain the standard Hiroshima style okonomiyaki.

At the time of an on-stage announcement, three members that were two young men and a little girl perhaps a kindergartener represented our group.  When the  little girl spoke English at a microphone, she won plaudits. I'm sure that to have such a great experience in early childhood has a huge impact on her life. I was so excited.

And following guest's speechs touched me so deeply.

A female guest told us.

A lot of people from overseas visit Peace Memorial Park and all of them are shocked. They feel sad and desperate and there is nothing they can do for it.

But, if someone is there and they have conversation with in person, they can recover their energy.

Only information never can do. So, it doesn't matter whether you can speak English well or not.

Her words strongly encouraged me. And another guest also told us that passion is more important than anything.

I was deeply touched a speech spoken in English!

Just at the time, an operation staff stroke up a conversation to invite me to join the associasion.

I didn't know why  he did.

Anyway I will join HIP on January.
