The agreement came at a meeting on Friday in Tokyo between Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae and her visiting Canadian counterpart Mark Carney. At the beginning of their talks, Takaichi said the two nations share fundamental values such as freedom, democracy, and the rule of law.
