How sad is this, and how sad how true this is, at least for traditional Japanese companies...
There are certainly people within each traditional japanese company who think that such
global minded individuals have much to contribute. But, the way business works in Japan is
so strict and fixed and unchangeable, that anything different or strange is just frowned upon.
So following on what I wrote yesterday, the easy way forward for me seems to be in foreign
owned companies in Japan. Those with a focus on renewable energy, are interesting to me,
and I'm sure I can contribute. I am just afraid that they will try to use me for my background
in dealing in a Japanese trading house. Thats fine, as long as I get to do other stuff too.
Anyway, as long as this is the mindset of the corporations, the government, the schools, society,
culture, here... we have a long way to go before things will change. Japan really is the last
frontier. If we are adamat to stay this way, then take pride! Don't halfheartedly try to protect
it while trying to compete in a capitalist world economy. Equal shares for all, and the
government will take care of us in old age. Is there really wrong in that, especially if it works??
People deserve to be happy. First, we have to figure out what happy is for each of us.
