Wonton Mee from Jurong West

my search for gastronomical pleasures. I started my morning with a satisfying breakfast. It was Wonton Mee from Jurong West, which I have a craving for sometime but I was just too lazy to travel to this crowded hawker centre. Last week, the Bryan Wong food queue show feature the chicken porridge in the same hawker centre and I was curious enough to dropped by to see. There's quite a number of people having that as breakfast but there's no queue. Maybe I will try that in the future but how could I give up the wonton mee when I'm there? Ok what is attractive about the wonton mee is their noodle and the blend of chilli sauce. The noodles are not very dry and it's different from those conventional noodle available elsewhere. hmm..how should I desribe it? The noodle is like Fei Fei's, with no "kee" smell but the seasoning is just much better than Fei Fei's. For the char siew, it's not very fat but quite dry , rather suits me. The wonton appeals to me more because the meat is fragrant and the wonton skin is soft. Note: the wonton doesnt look appetising but it's really tasty!
Beng Hiang Restaurant
This is a restaurant with Hokkien cuisine. Went to this restaurant on Saturday at about 8.00pm and the place was full. It is crowded with people and was rather noisy. During the ordering, one of the captains who attended to us was rather unfriendly when I asked her about the details of certain dishes.

[left] Braised duck with sea cucumber. The restaurant is rather generous with the amount of sea cucumber. It's very soft unlike the ones we tried to cook at home. I guessed the duck should be fried before. They added the tomato to make the dish look more colorful and appetising. I like the sauce that accompanied my rice.
[right] Braised white cabbage. This dish is sourish as it is cooked in vinegar with meat, mushrooms and "bian yu" pardon my food vocabulary

. It is rather appetising but I still prefer those light cooked greens. The meat is nice and soft though I could not figure if it's fish or pork. My mum said it's pork.
[left] Butter prawns. This is nice too.
[right] Oyster omelette. I would say this is one of the recommend dishes and the best oyster omelette I've tasted in Singapore. I like those thin crust and crispy eggs sheets. The best I've tasted was in KL and it was also like this very crispy and thin. This dish is spicy and is rather to my liking haha. The oysters are also done well, not too raw.
[left] Fish Maw soup. Hehe this is the cheaper version of shark fin's soup. The taste is almost the same and being a lover of shark fin's soup, I will go for this cheaper and more animal friendly version? I don't really like sharkfin I just love the braised thick soup topped with pepper and black vinegar. It fills me up easily.
[right] Complimentary dessert. I don't usually take brown rice or red bean related dessert but this is not bad! It taste rather creamy.
I will defintely come back to try other dishes but not in the near future as I'm still checking out more fabulous food in Singapore ! Wish me good luck ! Suggestions are also welcome.
