ＧＷ最終日、なぜかイランの南西部の町、シーラーズを思い出した！
シーラーズワインはイランでよく飲まれているワインですかと聞かれたから
かもしれないけど、まあ、ここでシーラーズという町を少し紹介しようかなと思った！
シーラーズの郊外に昔のペルシャ帝国の都ＰＥＲＳＥＰＯＬＩＳ（ギリシア語で
ペルシャの都市）がありました。このペルセポリスはアレクサンダーの攻撃で
壊されましたが、まあ、当時の王様は油断したからだったでしょう。
以前2回もアレクサンダーが攻撃したとき、ペルシャ軍が楽勝したから3回目も
楽勝だろうと、油断し、準備せず、負けてしまいましたので、今世界遺産として
残っている遺跡は本当にぼろぼろですね！アレキサンダーにしたら、3回目こそ
勝ちたいから本気に攻撃したからけどね！
ま、戦争はさておき、シーラーズは詩人や建築家の町でも有名で、私の
プロフィルページ画像も1888年に完成されたNasir Al Molkモスクです。
ちなみにインドの傑作タージ・マハルにも大きく貢献した建築家Ostad Isa
Shiraziもシーラーズ出身、彼の作品は現在のイラン、ウズベキスタン、
アフガニスタンなどにもあります。
（本当かどうか分からないけどタージ・マハル完成後にどこかでこんなに立派な
建築が作れないように手が切られたという話をよくイランで聞いていました！）

Just wondering why today, the last day of the Golden Week I remembered this
city, Shiraz! Perhaps its because people asking me if Shiraz Wine is that popular
in Iran or not? Well, I thought then better to share a little bit of it with all blog
readers (if any ;-)?) Shiraz is a southwestern Iranian city near the ancient Persian
empire's capital:
PERSEPOLIS (meaning Persian City in Greek)
I just read that India's TAJ MAHAL was built with supervisors mostly Iranian and
Turkish (Persians and Ottomans) but Ostad Isa (Iranian born in Shiraz) who was
main architectand plan drawer had his hands cutt of after completing Taj Mahal
(in order not to build such a masterpiece anywhere else???)
Anyway, one more thing making Shiraz name more international is:
SHIRAZ WINE
which is Australia's famous wine! What relationship between Shiraz and Australia?
Any similarities?
Well, Iran is an Islamic country where producing alcoholic beverages and drinking
is not allowed, but there are lots of grapes and vineyards for fruits and juice purposes!
and Australians developed this Wine originally by Iranian Shirazi grapes and continue
to improve and making a more recognized brand!
By the way, my profile page backround is Nasir Al Molk mosque in Shiraz, another
example of Persian architecture build in 1888!
