さて、皆さま前々回くらいでお伝えした通り、Grand Vistaショーは今回後半のステージで素敵なパフォーマーさんを一人お迎えします。
というわけで本日はインタビュースペシャル
ご紹介します！！本日のLA Partyスペシャルゲスト、津軽三味線奏者のNaoki Atkins君です

１. 名前と年齢、出身地をおしえて下さい。(Could you tell us your name, age, and where you are from?)
My name is Naoki Atkins and I am 14 years old. I was born in Kumamoto, Japan and have grown up in Orange County, CA.
２. 三味線はいつから弾いているのですか？ (How long have you been playing Shamisen?)
This is going to be my 5th year of playing the shamisen.
３. 「Grand Vista」ショーでは近代の楽曲とのコラボになりますが、現在の心境はいかがですか？ (Heard you'll be playing at Grand Vista show next month - how do you feel about the collaboration with the contemporary music like this?)
I usually only play Japanese folk songs, so this is an exciting opportunity for me to collaborate with the contemporary music at the Grand Vista show.
４. 当日は直樹くんもショーのコンセプトである「着物ドレス」を着る予定だとか。モデルさん、デザイナーなど三味線以外の事にも何か興味はありますか？？ (Are you interested in working other than Shamisen player? like model, designer, etc? )
In my spare time, I like to ride my skateboard at the local skateboard park. I also enjoy playing soccer and hope to make the high school soccer team.
５. Los Angelesでミュージシャンとして活動する事の楽しい点、逆に大変な点など教えてください。(What is the best part about being a musician in LA? and what is not? )
For me as a Shamisen player, the best part is that there are many great opportunities to play for the Japanese community. I especially enjoy that after a performance for the Japanese community, people from the audience will come over and talk with me. They are always so appreciative and seem to really enjoy having the opportunity to enjoy Shamisen in Los Angeles as there are not so many Shamisen players here.
Outside of the Japanese community, I haven't found as many opportunities.
６. 普段、三味線の曲以外には、どんな音楽を聞きますか？ (What is your favorite music, other than Shamisen? What do you listen to often?)
My favorite music is Rock or Pop and I like to listen to 106.7 or 98.7 FM.
７. 今後、やってみたい事を教えてください。音楽に限らなくて OKです。(Could you tell us what you would like to do in the future? could be about music, or something else too.)
I'm not sure about what I want to become when I grow up, but I want to see how long I can continue to play my Shamisen.
In the future, I really enjoy playing for huge audiences. I hope that I will continue to have those opportunities.
8. LA Partyの読者に、一言おねがいします。 (Could you give us a message - for the LA Party readers? )
Thanks to the support of the communities I have been very fortunate to have performed at a large number of events over the past 5 years. Some of those events have included the Consulate General of Japan in LA, various festivals in Little Tokyo, the New Years parties with the Kenjin Kai's and others. I would especially like to thank the leaders of the Kumamoto Kenjin Kai. Their continued support has been instrumental to my success.
I hope to meet all you LA Party readers that come to see the show. I heard this event is going to be very unique and you haven't seen anything else like this.
