先週から今週にかけてあったイベント
まずは、
4月なのに、異常に暑かった4月7日
サンフランシスコは基本涼しく、クーラーもいらないような場所なので、
この日は大変でした
最高気温 85F° = 29.4C°
まさに、アイスクリーム日和
高いビルとコンクリートに囲まれていると、85 F°でも100 F°みたいに感じられる暑さでした。
あまりに日差しが強くて、お昼間からカーテンを閉めないといけないくらいに
この暑い暑い日に
野球、メジャーリーグ（MLB）開幕
サンフランシスコは、次の日に試合があって、球場の近くはすごい人たちで賑わい
道で見かける人たち
マスクをしている人たちは、ざっと見る限り１０％くらいでしょうか
もうほとんどコロナ禍の前と同じような雰囲気のような感じがしました
街に活気が戻ってくるのは嬉しい反面、若干複雑だったりします。
サンフランシスコジャイアンツは、
活躍していたバスター ポージーが引退したので、今年はどんなチームになるのでしょう
彼は、名捕手でもあり、優れたバッター
でもあり、経験者でもあったので、
チームとしては、とても良い人材が1人減ったのはとても残念だったと思います
そして、週末は、ジャパンタウン（日本町）で
北カリフォルニア桜祭り
がありました。
コロナで、去年はオンラインでの開催だったようです。
今年も完全な復活ではなさそうですが、出店などは今までと同じような感じでした
ちょうど行った時には、ステージでは何も行われていなかったので、
ざっと出店を見て
かなり久しぶりに人混みに行ったためか
すぐに疲れしまって、一周して今回は退散
どのお店も長い列ができていました。
名物のパレードは、今年はないみたいです。
コスプレをしている人たちをこのお祭りでよく見かけますが、今回はそこまで多く見かけませんでした。
それにしても、すごい人たちでした
以前ボランティアをしたことがあって、懐かしいなあと思いました。
桜祭りは、週末２回あるので、ご興味ある方は、今週末に
そして最後に
物価上昇中
ガソリン代が一気に上がったり、スーパーの商品がじわじわと値上がり
一つの分かりやすい例が玉ねぎ
トレジョで、一つ５９セントだったスイートオニオン
それが、値上がりで７９セントに
その後に９９セントに
短期間に一気に上がったような印象を受けました

Some events that I've seen from last week to this week.
At first, it was a super hot day on April 7thl. As I've mentioned before, San Francisco typically has cool weather and we don't need air conditioner. But, we definitely needed it on that day.
High Temperature of a day 85F° = 29.4C°
Although it was 85F°, it felt like 100F° because of the tall buildings and concrete in San Francisco. It was absolutely a day for an ice cream. Sunlight was too strong to open the curtains so we had to even close them.
This very hot day was a MLB opening day! San Francisco Giants had a game the next day and there was a big crowd around a ball park. I think maybe only 10% of people walking on the street were wearing a mask. It was like before Covid. I am glad that some vibe came back but at the same time I'm a bit perplexed as still Covid exists. Since Baster Posey left San Franciso Giants, I wonder how it's going to be for this season. He was such a great catcher and an excellent batter and he got a knowledge from his experience. So, I suppose it hurt the team when he left.
Then, there was the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend. Apprently, they did it virtual last year. It's not completely the same as before, but it seemed most of stands came back. When we went there, there was nothing going on at the stage. We looked around some stands on the street and we got tired easily as it's been a while since last time we were surrounded by a huge group of people. I saw a long line everywhere. I often see a lot of people cosplaying at the festival but I didn't see many people this time. Unfortunately, there will be no parade this year. I was overwhelmed by many people. I remember a good time when I volunteered for this festival a long time ago. The festival goes this weekend also so if you missed last weekend, you still have a chance this weekend.
Lastly, inflation.... Gasoline price is spiking... and other groceries are getting more expensive. One of example is a price of sweet onion at Trader Joe's. A few month ago, it was only 59 cents per one onion. Then, it changed to 79 cents. I was like oh it got higher. Then a few weeks later, it became 99 cents. It increased in such a short period of time...
