Today, the weather was cold and rainy, and Kanami was the only person who came. She got a bit nervous, because that means she has to talk a lot. She prefers to have other people there as well.
I showed her the flyer for the Christmas event, but she said she was busy that day. We talked about how I designed the flyer and using a free template. Kanami said she liked the Language Tree logo and wanted to get her own logo for her business, but she thinks it might be too early yet, as the business is still new.
I said she could design one herself – just using pencil and paper first. She asked, “How do I then get that into the computer?” and I said she could use some design software, or then ask a professional designer to do it.
We talked about the differences between “made of”, “made from”, and “made with”. Fortunately, in most situations, you could use any of them and the meaning would still be clear, so it’s not a big deal.
But the basic difference is:
“made of” refers to the original, base material (This kimono is made of silk);
“made from” refers to changing an existing object (This bag is made from old jeans); and
“made with” refers to one ingredient of many ingredients (This cake was made with flour).
When I said, “Even if you say ‘made from’ instead of ‘made of’, it’s okay”, Kanami then said she was confused about how to use the word “Even”, so we went through some examples of using “Even if” and just “Even”.
Kanami then told me about a video she watches on YouTube about aliens. A Japanese lady called “Miyoko Angel”, talks abut different races of aliens. I said I’ve heard of some, and also about a guy called Darryl Anka who channels an alien called Bashar. Kanami said she knows about Bashar and used to listen to his tapes a long time ago.
Kanami said she goes to see a “Kikou” healer, about once a week, and he removes “bad energy” from her. He told her that she once had a past life as a princess during the Japanese civil war era, but she was killed.
