To form a relationship with someone based on shared
feelings, interests or experiences.
Everytime I meet someone new; talk to someone again; share an experience with someone; and create a
memory with someone, I'm always struck by how
wonderous and miraculous it is to form a bond with
that person.
We live in a world of billions upon billions of people.
And we will only ever come into contact with a minute
few.
Some have come and gone, some have stayed for a
while, and some will always play an important role in life.
Some have made me laugh, some have made me mad, and some have left me with a broken heart.
But the person I am today is shaped by every single
person that has walked into my life.
I strongly believe that it is not coincidence or luck that brings someone into my life, but some sort of fate.
Each meeting is destined, inevitable and necessary.
It may seem obvious that bonds are created between
people, and you may even take it for granted.
But to me, the moment that two people come together and connect is just so incredible.
It is this simple action that gives me great
happiness every day, and reminds me to not give up on humanity just yet.
And the best thing is when you scrape up a little
courage, step outside your comfort zone, talk to someone you've never met before and find out that you
share something in common - be that a hobby, a
preference or a future goal.
Not too long ago I went out with someone who I had
previously only talked to via phone messages, and
found out they also liked one of my favourite songs
that absolutely no one knows about.
Recently I met someone for the first time and found
out that in their bucket list, they also wanted to go to Macchu Pichu, see the Northern Lights and ride a
horse across the open plains of Mongolia.
Yesterday I talked to someone for the first time and
found out that they were also saving money to be
tattooed by an artist that I highly, highly respect and
am also saving money for.
It may not sound like much, but moments like these are little gems that brighten up my day.
I don't need romance or a lavish lifestyle in order to be happy with life.
By treasuring every bond that I forge, I continue to
appreciate each day that goes by and feel only
gratitude and satisfaction.
Life has no meaning unless there is human connection.
