❶　AB=Xｃｍとすると

四角形：AＢＣＤの面積は、

　Xｘ９＝３６＋(4ｘ9)1/2=36+18=54

よって答え：X＝６　（ＡＢ）ｃｍ

❷　これから、DE=6-4＝２ｃｍ

DF=Y　ｃｍとすると長方形の面積：ABFGは、（ただしＧは、Fより辺BCの延長線上に垂線をだしてBCの辺の延長線との交点をGとする）と

長方形の面積＝ABFGは、

６（９＋ｙ）=36+(2Y)1/2　＋６（9＋Y）1/2

54＋６Y＝３６＋Y+２７+3 Ｙ

よって　2Y=9

答え：Y=4.5　ｃｍ

Answer

❶ If AB=Xｃｍ

The area of rectangle ABCD is

Xx9=36+(4x9)1/2=36+18=54

Therefore, X=6 (AB)ｃｍ

❷ From now on, DE=6-4=2ｃｍ

If DF=Yｃｍ, the area of the rectangle: ABFG is (however, for G, draw a perpendicular line from F to the extension line of side BC, and let G be the intersection with the extension line of side BC).

The area of the rectangle = ABFG is

6(9+y)=36+(2Y)1/2 +6(9+Y)1/2

54+6Y=36+Y+27+3Y

Therefore 2Y=9

Y=4.5ｃｍ
