<HOME PARTY 〜パーティーの種類>
パーティーとは
もともとパーティーとは「同じ目的のもとに集う集団」を
意味します。 共に飲食を介し、人と出会い、情報収集し、
自己を高めるためにも適していると言われています。
パーティーと言ってもフォーマルなものから
ホームパーティーなどカジュアルなもの、 また、
ビジネスパーティーやウエディングパーティーなど
目的に合わせたパーティーまで様々です。
日本では祭事との結びつきも強く、五穀豊穣を願い、
神と共に喜び合う行事として、 ご馳走のついた
宴会スタイルが多く見られます。 現代では、パーティーは、日常生活の中で、よりプライベートな人間関係を作り上げるための コミュニケーション手段になっているので、
人が集い、共に、時間と感動を共有・分かち合える
パーティーを、もっと気軽に取り入れてみましょう。
■パーティーの種類■
<時間帯別>
◉ブレックファースト(8:30-10:30)
欧米では1日の始まりを大切にしているところも多く、焼き立てのパンや果物、ハムなどのデリを用意し 近所の友人を招いて朝食を楽しむ習慣もあります。日本でも朝食を兼ねたビジネスミーティングなども行われます。
◉ランチ(11:30-14:00)
昼食をとりながらのパーティーはディナータイムよりカジュアルに行える利点もあります。
公的な場合、ランチョンパーティーは午餐会とも言われ、食事は、肉、魚いずれかの一品料理で晩餐会よりも簡略されます。
◉アフタヌーンティー(14:00-16:00)
主に女性ばかりの会合を指すことが多いです。 紅茶を主体とし、ケーキやサンドイッチなどを出してもてなす形が多く、ホストもゲストと共に楽しむのがマナーです。
◉カクテル(17:00- )
ディナー前のパーティー。カクテルや食前酒となりうるものを、簡単なオードブル的な料理と共に添えておもてなしをします。 食前酒は、食欲の増進や過度の空腹を一時的に満たすための効果もあります。
◉ハイティー(18:00- )
もともとはイングランド北部、スコットランドなどの習慣で、パン、マフィン、ショートブレッド、ケーキ、サラダ、卵料理、ソーセージ、コールドミートなどをお茶で頂く夕食のことを示します。現在では、観劇やコンサートの前に、軽く紅茶と共にティーケーキやサンド イッチをいただくことを指すことが多いようです。
◉ディナー(19:00-22:00)
公的なパーティーの中で最も格式が高く、ドレスコードに従った装衣の男女が、指定の席についてフルコースの食事をいただきます。 食後に映画や音楽を鑑賞したり、ダンスやカードを楽しむこともあります。夫婦など男女のカップルで招かれるのが通常です。 主賓より遅れないように定刻の10分前くらいに会場に到着し、主賓や年長よりも早く帰ることには失礼にあたります。
◉アフターディナー(22:00- )
食後の時間帯に集まる会。食後酒(ブランデー、リキュールなど)を飲み、チョコレート、チーズ、プチフールなどを つまみながら楽しみ、またゲームなど余興をもすることも多いです。食後酒は、消化の促進や甘味の摂取により 満腹感を増長させるための効果もあります。

◉ファミリーパーティー 欧米でのホームパーティーの基本は、家族全員で役割分担をし、もてなすことを大切にしています。 将来のLadies&Gentlemen育成をホームパーティー の中でも培っていきます。 大人のパーティーに参加するまでのマナーとして、子供の頃から、もてなすことの大切さを学ぶ場にもなっています。
◉レセプションパーティー 本来は公的な会合のことを指しますが、歓迎会、記念行事などの明確な目的のもとで行われます。
◉ポットラックパーティー アメリカの合理的な精神から発案された、ポットラックパーティーは、よりコミュニケーションを高めるための パーティーとされています。名前の由来は、みんながポットに食べ物を入れて持ち寄るパーティーで 集まった料理が美味しいかどうかは、その日の運(ラック)で決まるという意味から付けられました。
◉ティーパーティー 紅茶をはじめ、飲み物の他にサンドイッチ、ケーキ、クッキー、果物を提供し自宅に招くのが原則です。 欧米でのティーパーティーの代表格としては、アフタヌーンティーが有名です。
◉シャワーパーティー 贈り物を一度にシャワーのごとく浴びせかけるパーティーを言います。結婚や出産の前に女性だけで開くのが一般的で ブライダルシャワーパーティー、ベビーシャワーパーティーと言われます。
<HOME PARTY: Types of Parties>
A party is originally meant to gather a group of people with the same purpose. It is said to be suitable for meeting people, gathering information, and improving oneself through food and drink. Parties range from formal events to casual gatherings like home parties, as well as purpose-specific parties such as business parties or wedding parties. In Japan, parties are often associated with festivals, where banquets with feasts are common, symbolizing the joy shared with the gods in the hope of a good harvest.
In modern times, parties have become a means of communication for building more private relationships in daily life, where people gather to share time and emotions together more casually. Let's incorporate parties more easily and enjoyably.
■ Types of Parties ■
<By Time Period>
◉ Breakfast (8:30-10:30) In many Western cultures, the start of the day is celebrated, and there is a custom of inviting neighbors for breakfast, serving freshly baked bread, fruits, and deli meats. Business meetings combined with breakfast are also common in Japan.
◉ Lunch (11:30-14:00) Parties during lunchtime can be more casual than dinner parties. In formal settings, luncheon parties are sometimes referred to as luncheons, where the meal is simplified compared to dinner parties, often consisting of either meat or fish.
◉ Afternoon Tea (14:00-16:00) This often refers to gatherings mainly attended by women. Tea is the main focus, accompanied by cakes and sandwiches. It is considered good manners for both the host and guests to enjoy the occasion together.
◉ Cocktail (17:00-) A pre-dinner party where cocktails or aperitifs are served along with simple appetizers. Aperitifs can help increase appetite and temporarily satisfy hunger.
◉ High Tea (18:00-) Originally a custom in northern England and Scotland, it referred to a dinner where items like bread, muffins, shortbread, cake, salad, eggs, sausage, and cold meats were served with tea. Nowadays, it often refers to having tea cakes and sandwiches lightly before attending theater or concerts.
◉ Dinner (19:00-22:00) The most formal of public parties, where guests adhere to a dress code and enjoy a full-course meal. After dinner, guests may watch movies or listen to music, and sometimes dance or play cards. It is customary for couples, such as husbands and wives, to be invited together. Arriving no later than 10 minutes before the scheduled time and leaving earlier than the main guest or elder guests is considered impolite.
◉ After Dinner (22:00-) A gathering that takes place after dinner, where guests enjoy postprandial drinks (brandy, liqueurs, etc.) along with chocolates, cheeses, and petits fours. Games or other entertainment may also be included. Postprandial drinks can aid digestion and enhance the feeling of fullness through the intake of sweetness.

◉ Family Party The basic concept of home parties in Western cultures is to involve all family members in hosting and entertaining guests. These gatherings are also opportunities to instill manners in children and cultivate future Ladies & Gentlemen. From childhood, children learn the importance of hospitality, which serves as a foundation for attending adult parties.
◉ Reception Party Originally referring to formal gatherings, reception parties are held for specific purposes such as welcome parties or commemorative events.
◉ Potluck Party Originating from the pragmatic spirit of America, potluck parties are considered opportunities to enhance communication. The name comes from the idea of everyone bringing a dish to share, and the quality of the dishes brought depends on luck (potluck).
◉ Tea Party Tea parties typically involve serving tea along with sandwiches, cakes, cookies, and fruits at home. Afternoon tea is a well-known type of tea party in Western cultures.
◉ Shower Party A shower party is where gifts are "showered" upon the recipient all at once. It is common for women to host these parties before marriage or childbirth, known as bridal shower parties or baby shower parties.
