Nishikori advances into the Top 8
[Current topic in Madrid] The ATP Masters Madrid Open Tournament was held on the 5th and Kei Nishikori (Nissin Foods), who now sits at 6th place in the world rankings, defeated Richard Gasquet (France), who now sits at 12th place in the world rankings, 6-4, 7-5 in the 3rd round of the men's singles tournament. Nishikori will be advancing to the semi finals. This was the first time Nishikori was able to defeat Gasquet after facing each other 7 times.
During the first set, Nishikori was able to break two of Gasquet's serves to get an early lead. He did the same in the second set and was able to get the win with a break in the 11th game, after not being able to take advantage of the match point in the 10th game.
In the semi-final, Nishikori will be facing the winner of the Nick Kyrgios - Pablo Cuevas match up.
