② The Story of Sadako

          In the hospital , Sadako received some paper cranes .  She remembered the custom , " If you make a thousand cranes ,  you will get well. " She made many cranes .  She made a wish on them for good health .  She didn't lose her hope , but she never left the hospital .  Her life ended when she was only twelve .  

       After Sadako died ,  it was difficult for friends to accept her death .  They built a statue of her .  It now stands in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park . Every year many people send paper cranes to Hiroshima from around the world .  The cranes are for Sadako and for peace .

      病気で、禎子は折り紙のツルを受け取った。彼女は「千羽のツルを折れば病気が良くなる」と言う風習を思い出した。

    彼女は、たくさんの折りツルを作った。 彼女は、折り鶴に健康への願いを込めた。彼女は、希望を失わなかったが、病院を出る事は決してなかった。禎子の人生は、たった１２歳の時に終わってしまった。禎子が亡くなった後、彼女の死を受け入れることは、彼女の友達にとって困難だった。彼らは禎子の像をたてた。 その像は、今でも広島の平和島記念公園にあります。毎年、世界中から多くの人々が広島に折り鶴を送ってくれます。その折り鶴は、禎子と平和のためなのです。

     ※もうすぐに６日が来ますが、原爆の唯一の被爆国は日本である事を忘れないで平和を大切しましょう。
