Thanks to you, krystalcube was once again
able to continue to do music in 2016.
2016 was a hallmark year in that the world has
made some major shifts - politically we've seen
"unexpected" results (for many) from the US Presidential
election and Brexit reflecting the need for rebalancing
our acts. They also indicated forces of resistance to
change. krystalcube, personally, has undergone some
awakenings. Overall, 2016 was both an extremely difficult
but a rewarding one.
Prince's leaving our realm this April was one of the most
shocking events for krystalcube. She never covered
Prince's songs before his departure but was compelled to
do so at every possible occasion and gig. Cannot accept
this loss quite yet. David Bowie in January and many
more artists and composers left us...
Most challenging this year was maintaining good health.
Not sleeping enough for many years appeared to have
caused chronic fatigue. Now, getting better and better every day.
Despite such conditions, krystalcube kept her pace of
doing the same number of gigs as last year (not counting private
show assignments). Many thanks to those who have been
supportive and cooperated with her during this time.
■ Gigs
Thank you for the many opportunities to do gigs
starting from Yokohama and expanding to new venues
in Minami Aoyama, Akashi and other areas. Did a total
of 25 gigs not counting the 12 private show assignments.
Also jointly hosting a countdown event for the first time.

■Music Production
krystalcube released her 3rd album "Bend Reality"
in November, exclusively for download/streaming
available for listening and purchase at
iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon.mp3 etc. This album, idea
proposed and partly hosted by Harajuku voiceBeat label,
was unique as all music was computer programmed.
krystalcube started to write songs from the spring.
Production ended once in summer but more work
was done over the fall. Had about 30 candidate song
sketches. Mr. Masaroh Kamata, sound producer, selected
5 from the 30. Many thanks to Messrs. Kamata and
Nobumasa Tanaka for making this album happen!
With computer music programming, the sound of
Bend Reality is somewhat different from krystalcube's
earlier works, but has received good feedback so far.
In addition, krystalcube also participated in
"Kizuna Love", a tribute album to Tomorrow, for his
10th anniversary of his solo debut. Various artists
covered his beautiful songs. krystalcube covered
"Aisherukotodake" (Only Loving You), a heart warming
love song. This album is full of love and warmth
for music, bonding all. The album is available at
Tower Records and other online sites.
Continued to mix and master EDM, a passe-temps, since
a few years ago. Some songs are played at clubs in Europe!
■More Music
krystalcube was also very fortunate to have the chance to
go enjoy good music. Memorable ones are:
Pee Wee Ellis@Cotton Club Tokyo in February.
Sounded different and groovy compared to what she's
familiar with.
Many shows performed by my favorite musicians at
my favorite venue
Satoshi Yoshida /Tony Suggs /Hanah Spring
@Shibuya Rhodes
In December, krystalcube wasn't sure if she could
make it to the show until the last minute but was
blessed to go to the final stage of Steve Gadd Band's
tour in Tokyo. This was awesome! Just loved it.
For 2017, krystalcube intends to be more healthy
and be energized for more music activities and
challenging new things. She will live in the NOW and
treat each moment as precious.
Thank you to all and let's be excited about the
coming new year and make it fulfilling and happy as ever.
