Recently, Huawei has quietly updated the original nova 7 SE with a new version of the nova 7 SE 5G Joy Edition. Unlike the original version, the chip used in this phone is the latest "Kirin 820E", a variant of the Kirin 820, which is also Huawei's first six-core chip.
The Kirin 820E includes three A76 2.22GHz large cores and three A55 1.84GHz small cores, compared to the Kirin 820, there is one less 2.46GHz A76 large core and one less 1.84GHz A55 small core.
Other than that, both use 7nm process and both integrate Mali-G57 MP6 GPU, Baron 5000 5G baseband and Da Vinci architecture NPU cores.
Last year, Huawei launched Kirin 9000E and Kirin 990E to make up for the lack of Kirin chips, while Kirin 820E was also selected from the "remnants" of Kirin 820 to shield the defective parts by reducing the specifications.
It is reported that the price of the Kirin 820E-equipped nova 7 SE5G Lively Edition starts at 2299 yuan, which is a full 1000 yuan lower than the Kirin 820 version. Previously, Huawei also launched a MediaTek version of the nova 7 SE, equipped with the Tiangui 800U, to make up for the lack of supply of Kirin chips, while the price has still been from 2,299 yuan.
As the successor of the "8" series processor, Kirin 820 was first launched by Glory 30S on March 30, last year, but the impact of U.S. sanctions, the chip's capacity is almost all reserved for Kirin 9000, currently equipped with this chip is very few models, only three, and by the impact of competitor cost-effective products, Kirin 820 model sales are not optimistic.
