あっという間に秋になり、少し前の話になりますが。
今年の夏、インドから女性シンガーが僕の自宅スタジオに来ました。
彼女の名前はニターシャ・Nitasha。
ある日メールが届き
「YouTubeチャンネルを観てメールをしました。
今度日本へ行くので一緒にコラボレーションできませんか？」
というような内容が書かれてありました。
最初は何かのイタズラメールかな？と思いながら、ニターシャのYouTubeチャンネルを観てみました。
そこには、インドの民謡やポップスなどを歌った動画と、旅の動画なども掲載されていました。美しい歌声と素敵な笑顔の女性で、素朴で誠実な印象を受けました。
僕は「是非、一緒にコラボレーションしましょう。友人のミュージシャンも誘ってみます。」と返事をしました。
8月にニターシャが来日。
僕の自宅スタジオに、ニターシャ、尺八の工藤煉山くん、エンジニアの佐々木さん、が集まり、ほとんど即興演奏のような感じでセッションが始まりました。
近所のお蕎麦屋さんへ行ったり、オンライン配信ライブをしたり、収録後は、ニターシャのご主人も加わっての打ち上げもしました。
音楽を通じて、色々な国の人と繋がってきましたが、YouTubeがきっかけで、こんな出会いがあるなんて。
「こんな日のために、私たちはミュージシャンになったんだ！」
そんな話をしながら心地いい時間を過ごしました。

It's quickly turning into fall, and this was a while ago.
This summer, a female singer from India came to my home studio.
Her name is Nitasha.
One day I received an e-mail from her.
I saw your YouTube channel and emailed you.
I'm going to Japan next time and wondered if we could collaborate ."
At first I thought it was some kind of prank mail. I thought it might be a prank mail, but then I watched Nitasha's YouTube channel, nitashasharma.com.
There, I found videos of her singing Indian folk songs and pop songs, as well as videos of her travels. She had a beautiful singing voice and a wonderful smile, and she seemed simple and sincere.
I said, "By all means, let's collaborate . I will invite some of my friends who are also musicians." I replied.
In August, Nitasha came to Japan.
Nitasha, shakuhachi player Kudo Renzan, and engineer Sasaki gathered at my home studio and began a session that was almost like an impromptu performance.
We went to a nearby soba (buckwheat noodle) restaurant, did an online streaming live performance, and after the recording session, Nitasha's husband joined us for a launch party.
Through music, I have connected with people from many different countries, but I never thought I would meet someone like this through YouTube.
We became musicians for a day like this!
We had a comfortable time talking about such things.
