In Kansai region, there is a dish called "taitan" which is made by stewing:
- Thinly sliced pork- Chinese cabbage- Mizuna- Long green onions
The ingredients are simmered in a Japanese-style broth made with:
- Dashi (Japanese soup stock)- Mirin (sweet rice wine)- Soy sauce
The dish has a subtle and gentle flavor. It is often enjoyed with "Nigorizake" (cloudy sake) from Wakayama, Japan.
