June 23rd is a holiday in Okinawa, "Memorial Day." I learned from the news that in Japan's last ground battle (the Battle of Okinawa), 10,000 American soldiers were killed in action, while 20 times as many Japanese, including local residents and children, died, including by suicide. Such a war lacking peace should never happen, and this is the day to mourn the victims!
