今日の曲は Train の名曲、 "Drops of Jupiter"です！
この曲はバンドのボーカリスト、Patrick Monahanが癌で亡くなってしまったお母さんについてかいた曲です。大ヒットしてグラミー賞をも受賞したこの曲の冒頭の歌詞はPatrickが寝てる時にふと頭に流れ込んできた歌詞だそうです。宇宙を背景に描かれた壮大な曲ですが、Patrickはこの曲の歌詞について"解放された母の魂が楽しく冒険して、幸せに過ごしていることを願いながら綴った歌詞"だと述べたそうです。
誰かを亡くしてしまった人にだけではなく、失恋して大切な人を失ってしまった人にも共感できる曲になっています。
