十戒

にいづまが好きな麻生圭子さんのblog を読んでいたら、興味深い記事（6/19）を発見しました。

それは『犬の十戒』について。

その前に～・・・

『十戒』とは～モーセがシナイ山でヤーウェ神から与えられた10か条の啓示。

1. 1.　あなたはわたしのほかに、何ものも神としてはならない。
2. 2.　あなたは自分のために刻んだ像を造ってはならない。
3. 3.　あなたは、あなたの神、主の名を、みだりに唱えてはならない。
4. 4.　安息日を覚えて、これを聖とせよ。
5. 　 　主は六日のうちに天と地と海とその中のすべてのものを造って七日目に休まれたからである。
6. 5.　あなたの父と母を敬え。
7. 6.　あなたは殺してはならない。
8. 7.　あなたは姦淫してはならない。
9. 8.　あなたは盗んではならない。
10. 9.　あなたは隣人について、偽証してはならない。
11. 10.　あなたは隣人の家をむさぼってはならない。

上記はヒトの十戒。

そして『犬の十戒』は・・・

1. 1.　My life is likely to last ten to fifteen years．
   　　私の一生は10～15年くらいしかありません。
   Any separation from you will painful for me.
   　　ほんのわずかな時間でもあなたと離れていることは辛いのです。
   　Remember that before you buy me．
   　　私のことを飼う前にどうかそのことを考えてください。
2. 2.　Give me time to understand what you want of me．
   　　私が「あなたが私に望んでいること」を理解できるようになるまで時間が必要です。
3. 3.　Place your trust in me- it's crucial to my Well-being.
   　　私を信頼して下さい......それだけで私は幸せです。
4. 4.　Don't be angry at me for long and don't lock me up as punishment.
   　　私を長時間叱ったり、罰として閉じ込めたりしないで下さい。
   　You have your work your entertainment and your friends．
   　　あなたには仕事や楽しみがありますし、友達だっているでしょう。
   　I have only you．
   　　でも……私にはあなただけしかいないのです。
5. 5.　Talk to me sometimes．
   　　時には私に話しかけて下さい。
   　Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice when it's speaking to me．
   　　たとえあなたの言葉そのものはわからなくても、
6. 私に話しかけているあなたの声で理解しています。
7. 6.　Be aware that however you treat me, I'll never forget it.
   　　あなたが私のことをどんな風に扱っているのか気づいて下さい。
8. 　　私はそのことを決して忘れません。
9. 7.　Remember before you hit me that l have teeth that could easily crushthe bones of your hand
10. but that I choose not to bite you．
    　　私を叩く前に思い出して下さい。
11. 　　私にはあなたの手の骨を簡単に噛み砕くことができる歯があるけれど、
12. 　　私はあなたを噛まないようにしているということを。
13. 8.　Before you scold me for being uncooperative obstinate or lazy，
14. ask yourself if something might be bothering me.
    　　私のことを言うことをきかない、頑固だ、怠け者だとしかる前に
15. 　　私がそうなる原因が何かないかとあなた自身考えてみて下さい。
    　 　Perhaps I'm not getting the right food or I've been out in the sun too long
16. or my heart is getting old and weak．
    　　適切な食餌をあげなかったのでは？
17. 　　日中太陽が照りつけている外に長時間放置していたのかも？
    　　心臓が年をとるにつれて弱ってはいないだろうか？などと
18. 9.　Take care of me when I get old ; you, too, will grow old
    　　私が年をとってもどうか世話をして下さい。あなたも同じように年をとるのです。
19. 10.　Go with me on difficult journeys．
    　　最期の旅立ちの時には、そばにいて私を見送ってください。
    　　Never say, "I can't bear to watch it ." or " Let it happen in my absence."
    　　「見ているのがつらいから」とか「私のいないところで逝かせてあげて」なんて
20. 　　言わないでほしいのです。
    　　Everything is easier for me if you are there．
    　　あなたがそばにいてくれるだけで、私にはどんなことでも安らかに受け入れられます。
    　　Remember I love you．
    　　そして・・・どうか忘れないで下さい。私があなたを愛していることを。

この文章を読んで、涙が止まりませんでした。

同じ言語を話せないからこそ、「こんなことを思っているのだろうか・・・」と考えると、

普段の生活を省みてしまいます。

さらに、『猫の十戒』もあるそうです。

1. 1.　Thou shalt not jump onto the keyboard when thy human is on the modem
   　　汝、人間がモデムを使っているときは、キーボードに飛び乗ることなかれ。
2. 2.　Thou shalt not pull the phone cord out of the back of the modem.
   　　汝、モデムの後にある電話線を抜くことなかれ。
3. 3.　Thou shalt not unroll all of the toilet paper off the roll.
   　　汝、トイレットペーパーをロールから全部引っ張り出すことなかれ。
4. 4.　Thou shalt not sit in front of the television or monitor as thou are transparent.
   　　汝、透明ではないのでテレビやモニターの前に座ることなかれ。
5. 5.　Thou shalt not projectile vomit from the top of the refrigerator.
   　　汝、冷蔵庫の上から勢いよく吐き戻すことなかれ。
6. 6.　Thou shalt not walk in on a dinner party and commence licking thy butt.
   　　汝、ディナーパーティーのときにやってきて、尻を舐め始めることなかれ。
7. 7.　Thou shalt not lie down with thy butt in thy human's face.　　　　
   　　汝、人間の顔の上に尻を向けて横たわることなかれ。
8. 8.　Thou shalt not leap from great heights onto thy human's genital region.
   　　汝、高いところから人間の股間に飛びかかることなかれ。
9. 9.　Fast as thou are, thou cannot run through closed doors.　　　
   　　汝、どんなに速く走ろうとも、閉まったドアを通り抜けることはできない。
10. 10.　Thou shalt not reset thy human's alarm clock by walking on it.
    　　汝、目覚まし時計の上を歩いてタイマーをリセットすることなかれ。
11. 11.　Thou shalt not climb on the garbage can with the hinged lid, as thou wilt fall in and trap thyself.
    　　汝、蝶番付きのフタが開くごみ箱に乗って、落っこちる罠にはまることなかれ。
12. 12.　Thou shalt not jump onto the toilet seat just as thy human is sitting down.
    　　汝、人間が腰掛ようとした瞬間にトイレの便座に飛び乗ることなかれ。
13. 13.　Thou shalt not jump onto thy sleeping human's bladder at 4a.m.
    　　汝、午前４時に眠っている人間の膀胱の上にジャンプすることなかれ。
14. 14.　Thou shalt realize that the house is not a prison from which to escape at any opportunity.
    　　汝、家とは機会があれば逃げ出せる刑務所ではないことを悟るべし。
15. 15.　Thou shalt not trip thy humans even if they are walking too slow.
    　　汝、人間の歩みがいかに遅くとも、つまずかせることなかれ。
16. 16.　Thou shalt not push open the bathroom door when there are guests in thy house.
    　　汝、家にゲストがいるときはトイレのドアを押し開ける事なかれ。
17. 17.　Thou shalt remember that thou are a carnivore and hat houseplants are not meat.
    　　汝、汝は肉食動物であり、観葉植物は肉でないことを思い出すべし。
18. 18.　Thou shalt show remorse when being scolded.
    　　汝、叱られたときには後悔してみせるべし。

『犬の十戒』に比べてにゃんこさんのを読んでると、

「コレ、あるよ～（笑）」とちょっと吹き出してしまう項目も。

共に作者不詳らしいけど、わんこさんとにゃんこさんでどうしてこんなに違うのだろうか・・・（＾－＾；；
