例文の大体がこういう「仕事もう終わろう」系。
あと夜バージョンのcall it a nightというのもあります。
you've been somewhere in the evening and you know it's time to go home
とあるので意味はcall it a dayと同じだけど、夜なので夜通し遊んでた時でも使えるっぽい。
WiktionaryではTo cease the activity for the dayとあり、やっぱり例文も「今日はもう止めよう明日やろう」みたいな感じ。
ただこっちにはもうひとつretireという意味もあると書いてありました。
例文も「巨額の損失を続けて出した後退職することにして会社を売った」みたいなヘビーな感じ。
どっちにしろ「何かを止めることにする」という意味に違いはないかな。
