Tour to Europe #15
Advanced southward by car from Denmark and arrived at my final destination, Rieden. It's broiling, entirely different from Denmark where it was kind of chilly.
デンマークから車で南下しこの遠征の最終目的地リーデンに着いた。肌寒かったデンマークとは、うって変わって焦げるような暑さだ。

日本チームも続々と現地入りして、全員無事に到着が確認できてホッとした。
About making tours abroad, the results are of course important, but, arriving at the venue and going home safe and sound are far more important than anything else.
海外遠征は結果も大切だけどやはり、無事に到着して、無事に帰国するということが何よりも重要だ。
The training on Wednesday is also pretty hot. So everyone is taking light exercises just to get used to the place.
水曜日のトレーニング日もやはりかなり気温が高く軽めの場馴らし程度
Under the blazing sun, are the dogs going to be ok? How about the judges?
この炎天下の中で犬は大丈夫か？そして、ジャッジは大丈夫か？
However, on the public workout on the next day, it was chilly with a drizzle.
しかし、翌日の公開練習の日は小雨が降り肌寒い
The opening ceremony in the evening.
その後夕方には開会式となる。
I felt odd as I had been always watching from the handlers' side.
いつもは選手団側から見ていた光景が逆になって不思議な感じがした。
In Japan, judges have to wear suits, but in Europe, more casual clothes are allowed giving weight on comfortableness in moving.
日本ではジャッジはスーツ着用となっているが、ヨーロッパでは動きやすさを重視しラフな格好が許されている。
I had planned to wear the "Kariyushi" which I received from the organizer of the Okinawa competition when I judged there earlier this year. As some of you may know, "Kariyushi" is a formal wear in Okinawa, and it is also ideal clothes for battle with the heat.
今年沖縄の大会に行った時、主催者にプレゼントして頂いた"かりゆしウエア"を着用しようと考えていた。“かりゆし”はご存知のように沖縄ではフォーマルな服装で、かつ暑さ対策に最適な服装だと聞いていた。
On the first day of the competition, this "Kariyushi" happens to be a savior for me.
そして、大会初日に、この“かりゆし”に救われる事となった。
