Stephen Brown/ Strings & Things (EevoNext)
Cane't is a beautiful place in the south of France where i go on holiday every year. Last year after basking in the sun and listening to John Beltran for hours i put together my favorite ingredients Percussion and strings to make this piece of music. The final touch is a filtered melody which floats around the rest of the track. Thank you Cane't for the sun and thank you John for the inspiration. the Terrace remix adds a feel to it that is reminiscent of original Detroit techno times. It always amazes me how much feeling you can get from nothing more than an arpeggios and some strings. I kept adding other sounds but the less i used the sweeter it sounded, so i decided Sweet Nothing was appropriate. The Venue takes me back to a club in Edinburgh called PURE the Venue. A time when even dance floor tracks had melody and soul. I used an old analog synth for the warm bass line that lies underneath some lush chords. And i love the sound of a Pitched up 909 Kick.
