Wii Fencing part 2

Once a quarter, my company will have TGIF (Thank God It's Friday!) luncheon, which we will have catering food with different theme sponsored by different departments in the company.

The most recently one(I think it was last month??), we had one with Beijing Olympic theme. We had Chinese food catering and Wii Olympic game contest among coworkers. The food was ok, not bad not good... My favorite part of the luncheon surprisingly was not the food but the Wii contest...(knowing me it's not the usual case >_<)

I signed up for Fencing! Comparing to swimming, 100-meter relay, etc, I think this require the most skill and it's the most interesting one! We had 4 people signed up including me. I against a female coworker (do not know her name...) and Mr. C against Mrs. M. Then the winner at each round would against each other for the final winner.

Here is me against my female coworker, which I won!!

Then Mr. C won against Mrs. M.

Here is me against Mr. C.

Here is one with Wii game screen.

Unfortunately I lost for 2 points at the end... I think it was 28 against 30. >_<

Here is what I got for participating...

Last but not least, our desert for the luncheon! Fabulous cake, half chocolate and half vanilla.

Melting Pot

I went to Melting Pot with some friends for dinner. It was a friend's birthday.

o(^▽^)o

Melting pot--so it's all about hotpot with different ingredients. Oh, the official term is not hotpot, but fondue. I still prefer Chinese hotpot than this but it's a new experience for me. (^ε^)♪

At first we had the Spinach Artichoke Cheese Fondue. It has spinach, artichoke hearts, garlic, and cheese of course. It all melts in the pot which we can dip bread pieces, apple pieces, and vegetables with.

Here is a picture from the web...

Ok, here was the one we actually have, a lot less cheese....

but the bread, veggie, and apple was the same.

Then we had mushroom salad. I'm not a salad person, so I gave it to my friends.

Then the main course, which I dug in so fast that I forgot to take pictures...........

(>_<) So I got similar pictures from the web again. The one we ordered was their Signature Selection, which has filet mignon, shrimp, teriyaki-marinated sirloin, boneless breast of chicken, and salmon fillet. They have lots of sauce to go with different meat.

Finally it's my favorite chocolate fondue. (My friend reminded me, so I remembered to take pictures this time.) (・∀・) We order the Ying & Yang, which is just half dark chocolate and half white chocolate swirled in a Chinese YingYang shape.

Pretty, right? Here is the stuff that we dip the chocolate with.

It looked really good but we all preferred if they have more fruit than desert that was already very sweet. The banana and strawberry tasted really good with chocolate. My personal favorite is apple with chocolate, but they don't have it. I wished I saved the apple from the cheese fondue...... (-。-;)

Ok, this concludes my trip to the Melting Pot! ヽ(゜▽、゜)ノ

Osha Thai

I went to one of my favorite restaurant today during lunch time. It's a Thai restaurant at Embarcadero Center, SF. I was a little sad because I forgot to take pictures of my dish before I dig in...... (>_<)

I remembered to place my digital camera in my bag last night, how could I forget.... Was I very hungry?.....

(-。-;) Oh well, the lunch was great!

I ordered Prawn Pad Thai, my coworder ordered Beef Yellow Curry. I love both. My mouth starts to watering again as I'm writting now... In one word--"Yum!" I think the difference between their food and other Thai restaurant is the sauce. The coconut milk did not over power the sweetness and spicy taste of the other ingredients.

Here is a picture I found that looks very similar to my dish, except mine was with prawn and this looks like is with chicken.

Suddenly I remember Jeong Hoon obba also love Thai food..... Ummmmm, trying to imaging eating Thai food with Jeong Hoon obba. ('-^*)/
