Passive Smoking is Killer for Non-smoking People

WHO yesterday announced that Passive smoking killed 600,000 people worldwide in 2004 on one of their recent studies which posted on Lancet magazine.
This study showed that 165,000 of the victims were children who were under the age of five. Such global research death toll by Passive smoking is unprecedented and 192 countries are included.

The study team suggests countries to reinforce a regulation based on the FCTC, Framework Convention Tobacco Control, for decreasing the large number of avoidable death.

According to this study, the Passive smoking globally exposed 40% of under 15 years old children, 35% and 33% of non-smoking men and women to a fatal disease such as Heart attack, Asthma, and Lung cancer.

It is a tragic fact that such huge number of children are exposed to the unnecessary exposure. In particular, more children are dying or become ill by the Passive smoking in developing countries.

WHO has announced that 5.1 million smoking people are dying in a year, and given that an existance of the 600,000 victims of Passive smoking, 5.7million people past away by smoking.
