イスラエルの面積は約22,000km2で、四国（18,800km2）より少し大きいくらいです。その半分以上が砂漠で、形は縦長。
よく四国旅行とか、5日くらいで観光名所回れちゃうくらいだから、イスラエルも観光名所だけ回るとしたら１，２週間で十分なのかもしれないです。東京や大阪みたく交通の便は良くないけど。
ハイファは、イスラエルの北に位置する都市で、地中海沿いにあります。北部にあるだけあって、夏でも比較的涼しいので“比較的”過ごしやすく、冬には雪も降ることもあるんだとか。なんとなく、東京の湿度が低いバージョンの気候に近いかな、って感じがします。
国際空港のあるテルアビブから電車で約1時間でつきます。電車に乗っている間は、日本の田舎の電車に乗ってるくらい本当に周りに何もないです。
ハイファで一番最初にイメージするのが「バハーイー庭園」。山の斜面に沿うように広がっていて、頂上には黄金のドームがあり、ハイファを一望できる絶景スポットです。

Haifa is the Northern Capital of Israel, along the Mediterranean Sea.
It takes about 1 hour to get to Haifa from Tel Aviv by train.
The Baha'i Gardens can be the most famous sightseeing spot in Haifa. Once you see the beautiful garden and great view from the top, you will love this place.
We also visited Church and Sinagogue. Israel is the country where many different religious people live, so you can experience the difference in various ways.
There is beautiful cave at Rosh Hanikra, near the border with Lebanon. Sadly when we went there, the weather wasn't good and sometimes it rained, but still deep and clear blue color made me feel "Yes, I had to come visit here!".
Acre(Akko) is about 20-30 min away from Haifa. Since we toured by taxi around Haifa and Acre area, we didn't have any problem with transportation, but if you use buses, you may need to search carefully before visiting.
Old city of Acre is another beautiful place to visit. This city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You won't get bored of walking around. You can find many blue doors while walking, and you can feel the history of this country.
If you are interested to buy souvenir, you can check "Saphirim Rahav". They have a lot of jewelries and goods with Roman glass and silver etc. They are not cheap, but it's worth buying.
